I like my "old" truck , its 5 years newer than my car. lol. But seriously they are pretty well cared for and if you ask around 500k really isn't bad, that's what they are built to do.

I drove an International with 450k. The motor ran good, but the rest of the truck was falling apart. Maybe that had to do with the carrier.
-
I wouldn't mind getting an older truck...just means I will be swapping it out for a new one sooner.
-
99.9% of the time, a newbie will get one of the older trucks in the fleet with any company until they prove they are able to handle the truck safely and do the job. Can't blame a company one bit for following that procedure.
Cooper09 Thanks this. -
who cares as long as it gets you from a to b and makes you money.

Here is how getting assigned a truck as a newbie works. You go to a terminal and get tested out. You find an empty tractor or ask the shop which ones are empty. Look around the empty ones, maybe do a pretrip on them. Find the one you want and have your trainer call one of the two dispatchers who handle newbies with the tractor number. As long as its not being held for another driver you will most likely get it. If its a new t700 so be it. Its why i have the t2000 i have and not a t660 ( the 660 needed body work and had to go to brf ) or cascadia that where empty. Just luck of what is empty and ready when you test out.

Haha LB ur a prime example of why I don't get on here. 1st off I didn't quit... 2nd I never once said you didn't run hard. Go pound your tits somewhere else. 3rd I've seen you ONE time. And i recall you sitting in your truck... Didn't think ppl can walk away from someone while sitting and showing someone ur aux input that plays through a radio station. And 4th you sound like a 7 yr old in school saying ppl don't like me. Cuz i could care less. I'm not out to make friends with you or any other truck driver out there. I do my job and get a PAY CHECK. 5th to the contradiction comment... Lol I said no one else that I've seen so far likes to run hard. That excluded my self. I've ran more 3000+ mile weeks than you have im sure. Considering you told me and another driver you barely got over 3k usually between 22 and 2800. But i bet you run more now... Ha but dude you can go talk #### to a wall... Either way your wasting your time. I'm documenting my experience. You aren't me and I #### sure aren't you so you can't tell me what I've seen or done. I don't read your thread because I could care less what you say to these ppl on the internet. Like I said ur one of the reasons I don't get on here. And Yeh you run so hard you have time to be on this forum every couple hrs. Dude go drive your truck and worry about yourself and ill worry about me. My parents taught me how to mind my own business. And if you want to be such a team player why don't you pay some of my bills for me. And next time ask the source before you go running around the school telling everyone what you heard about brandi at cheerleading practice. Chode
But to everyone else. Im not an internet super hero. I tell it like it is. I have no reason to poke my chest out on the internet and say anything that isn't true or try to impress anyone or down anyone. or say one thing on the page everyone can read then say something totally diff in a PM. If you want that just go to LBs thread and then PM him for the truth. I'm keeping a blog of my experience from MY EYES not LBs eyes or anyone else's. If you don't like it... Don't trigger your brain to left click my thread. Plain and simple. Millis is a great company to work for. From what I've heard of other companies I have no desire to drive for another company.
But for those who want to know. God blessed my wife and i with a beautiful young man on March 22nd. I took a month off from driving to be with my wife and son. And Millis was glad to give me how ever much time I needed off. I returned to work and a month later was pulling some pins on an old trailer and slipped and hit my head on another Millis trailer and the next morning woke up with a migraine and loss of depth perception. I just recently regained all vision back to 100% and now I'm waiting on reed fo call me back with instructions on how I'm going to get to my truck in BRF if i decide to go OTR like I'm planning since regional is so slow right now. But i may decide to go regional between now and tomorrow. But now thY all trucks are E LOG I will more than likely go OTR cuz I like a 3500 mile checkwhich is hard to do regional with Elog. Everything has to work out PERFECT for that to happen. Which happens not that often.
But beside what LB says I've made 6 friends who drive on regional that I talk to on an everyday basis. Well I did when i was in the truck. I talk to one now. But I'm not with all the internet #### talking. Some of you are I see but not me. Srry if anyone thinks I have disrespected them or hurt your feelings... But if you don't like me.. that's fine. Life goes on. But be a man/woman about it. This isn't high school. If you do like me then cool keep checking up on me. I appreciate it! But I'm blunt.... If you don't like me put me in an ash tray... If u do like me then keep smokingthat was a good analogy.. to me anyways. Oh looky there... I've got a biiiiiittttteeeeeee.
