I was supposed to be out of Louisville by 9 this morning. It's almost 11 AM now.
My momma told me there'd be days like these...

Got out of there at 1230 central time. Ran to to the J west of Knoxville. 369 exit. Wanted to get into VA but I've cut it down to an easy run. 920 miles away and I don't deliver until 1000 on Thursday.

On time in Pawtucket but the place is moving slow. Been in position for nearly an hour and they haven't let me hook up the hose. I've run the air up to 20 and will be turning the compressor off at 25 if I'm not airing of the load by then.
Spoke with Dan. He's giving me a load pointed towards home. Maybe I'll do a reset at the house before a quick run ahead of the 4Th.Smut Thanks this. -
Spent the night at our Springfield terminal. Loading at 1300 for a trip to Madisonville KY. I don't think I've been there before. It's a good load with an open window for delivery on Sunday.
I'm 10 days into this system run and as usual, I feel like turning towards home at that point. I'll go ahead and put a go home date for Thursday next week.
I dispatch out of Cincinnati next, and they always have a load headed towards NC. It's a quick run over the Hillbilly.Last edited: Jun 22, 2018

Madisonville is nice country. Hopefully, you get to travel our Western Parkway. At the very least, head out to Land Between the Lakes and go fishin'. We do a lot of camping out that way. One of my favorites.Mortarmaggot Thanks this. -
Hey quick question how has the gross been on your weeks? How you like the company?
-
I like the folks and the company. They let me take time when I want it. My wife is leaving town to go to her nephew's wedding. They have no issue whatsoever that I'm staying home for 6 days while she's gone. The equipment is maintained and the direct deposit is like clockwork. 9 paid holidays and 2 personal days the first year. The second year I get 2 weeks paid vacation on top of it.
They've been good to me. -
Pointing the truck towards home. Leaving around noon out of Cincinnati and will spend the night at the 77 on the 77. One last All American Slam.
I deliver in Kernersville at 1400 and then run to the barn. Kids aren't expecting me until Thursday or Friday, so it'll be nice to surprise them with an early return.
Being retired military, the Mrs knows when I'll be home. As the old saying goes, " a quarter will save a marriage." LOLtaodnt Thanks this. -
Crazy lucky to catch a parking spot at almost 0100. Did a drive thru of the J on the 77. As I gave up and started for the exit to check the Pilot across the street, a truck pulled out of a great parking spot. Other trucks were circling too, but I was the knucklehead who got lucky.
Appointment isn't until 1400, so I got a nice 11 hour break. Having my coffee and chilling now. As long as the day goes somewhat as planned, I'll make it back to the barn in Wilmington tonight.
Stay safe out there, driver.Smut Thanks this.
