Just a local hotel the company contracts with for direct billing and rates. Most terminals have one.

We're allowed to get a hotel near a terminal or every 3 days while OTR. In Pasadena it's the Quality Inn that the terminal contracts with. We lose the sleeper birth pay, but that's just 10 bucks a night. Good deal

There's no set policy, its terminal to terminal how they do it. I never lost sleeper berth pay for staying in a hotel and there was never a limit. I'd only ever really use it if I was doing a multiday layover (markham). Some need to have the terminal manager/dispatcher approval. As an IC I'll still use the company hotel for the discounted rate and just have it taken out of my settlement.

At the Flying Hook in Gulfport MS. Product needs to be warned so I put the in transit heat on it. Trailer had already been charged . Discovered a hole in the hose, but some emergency tape took care of that.

I will roll into Morrow GA this afternoon and chill at the terminal for a day and a half. Not a lot of drivers hang at our terminals, so I will have probably have full control of the remote. Morrow also has a decent shower and supplies towels. I don't know if any other terminals do that.

On Monday I will ask if a local can deliver and if they can send me on a load towards NC. Driving pays better than sitting. It never hurts to ask.

Unloading at Behr. No load out so they're tank washing me back to Wilmington today. That's 411 miles of empty running. My wife and kids will be happy.

I'll be taking some time off due to the up coming holiday. If there is a dedicated over the weekend, I'll try to get on it.

Not being home for halloween is a deal breaker for my wife and kids. We go all out with a haunted house in the garage, and I hand out beer to the dads, but only if they are walking and say trick or treat. We usually have small wines for the moms too.

Planning on a long system run in November. My wife wants new counter tops before Thanksgiving.

Without a doubt, one of the best "holidays" of the year.

Day 2 at home. Painting my son's room so I can move him back in. Things are almost back to normal, with a few upgrades, since Florence.

Had oral surgery yesterday. Took pain meds yesterday and today, but will stop tonight.

Spoke with work. I took a Salt Lake City run headed out this weekend. I love a preload that I can get under on a Saturday and run all weekend with. Kaching!

Very nice. I'm held over outside of Vicksburg, MS and heading back to Houston. Two deliveries this week back-to-back where wait times have been over 6 hours each.

NO kaching. But as my trainer used to say, "That's truckin'"!

Yup, that's trucking. On my last two system runs I ran hard and made good money to start out, and then hit some delays in the last half. That's just the way it goes sometimes. The new pay is going to help.
