We're setting money aside for a Disney trip now. Our 3 youngest haven't been yet. 11,13, and 16 is an age they'll really remember the trip.
We are also discussing a trip to visit her parents in Colorado again. They are the only living grandparents and they aren't getting any younger.
I'm going to roll up a lot of money belt this year. Considering running 4 weeks straight in March. Mary started a new job this and makes great money; better than I.
I am considering finishing my degree online while over the road. I've gotten almost 2 years done.
It'd take a couple of more years and I'd have to leave trucking the last 6 months to do the intern and work study requirements for licensing. We do have the time otr but it would take a lot of commitment on my part.
I enjoy trucking and it is easy money. At least some of the easiest I've made. The big question is whether I want to be trucking at 60 or counting beans but home every night and weekend with a 6 figure salary.

The kids will love Disney. Our granddaughter had eyes as big as pie plates the entire time we were there. That's a memory she won't forget.
I did the opposite. Earned my coin, then decided to do something I had always wanted to do since I graduated from college. I'm fortunate to be able to have the flexibility to run hard when I want. Great company and a great manager.scythe08 and Mortarmaggot Thank this. -
Do what you think will make you happiest. I support either one
Mortarmaggot Thanks this. -
Spoke with dispatch. My prepass is in and I'll talk to them tomorrow about which runs are available Wednesday. It'll be nice to go by some open scales in the new rig.
If a system run is available, I'll go out for 10 to 14 days. If there's a solid dedicated load, maybe I'll do a short turn. It's nice to have options. -
PostmanMJC and Mortarmaggot Thank this.

Didn't have a lot of good system runs, so I took one loading on Friday. It delivers in Old Hickory on Monday, so I won't head out until Saturday, maybe early Sunday.
I usually get a Magnolia to Elwood after Old Hickory, and then run from Markham down to Kay Chem on the way home. If I feel like running a little more, High Point can dispatch me.PostmanMJC Thanks this. -

Haven't updated in a while. Ran out of Memphis to load in Earth City MO. Product was loaded cold so I took it to the East St Louis tank wash and had it steamed. Ran out of hours and spent the night there.
Delivered that load yesterday in Montgomery PA and came to Karns City. Next load is to Bufford GA. Tank was deadlined this morning, so I'm sitting on dispatch delay. A local guy is loading it for me now.
It's snowing and cold as a new driver is heading out on his road test. Had a nice chat with him as he waited. He'll be a good one.
I will be back in Fayetteville NC Tuesday night. Other than the cold, this has been a good trip so far... Knocking on wood.Smut Thanks this. -
Made it back to the barn last night. It's good to be home.
My oldest son called me yesterday. He is considering moving here from Milwaukee Oregon and going into trucking for a few years.
It'd be nice to have my oldest fishing buddy back around. -
Nuthin' better.
When the DW and I lived in KY, the kids were hardly able to see us. Now that we're in TX, we have our oldest son living across town and our oldest daughter 1.5 hours down the road.
Makes all the difference in the world.Orange713 and Mortarmaggot Thank this.
