I don't know about other trucking sites but TTR allows the company to tell their side of any dispute.
Funny thing, they almost never do.scythe08 Thanks this. -

Mortarmaggot Thanks this. -
I'm getting ready to tell my story. Maybe that will soften up Mort enough so that he'll share his tale.

Probably sat him for 4 days and then sent him somewhere far away and cold like manitoba...

I am over being upset. However, I wish I would have been sent far away instead receiving the morale sucking paycheck killing load that I got.
Coming off the maybe load, I call Markham and they tell me to come on in and they will get me on a load headed home. I let them that I can stay out in the system if they have a decent load for me. He's glad to hear that and has a good load he'll send me on the next day . So, off to Markham I go.
I got in after everyone was gone for the day. The messages had already come in during the ride, but I really didn't pay much attention to the times and locations, other than loading the following day at noon.
When I finally get around to looking at them, it's the load at Valvoline and deliver to Cummins the following day. I wasn't pissed until I looked up the miles along with pickp up and delivery times, and realized two days were getting killed off on a load that pays 125 bucks a day to do. That's including the bunk pay.
How that is a system route is beyond me. It wouldn't be bad if they would have a local guy load it and a driver could take off with it and deliver it on the same day. Two days for 233 miles and 100 empty to Cincinnati is BS.
Like a buddy pointed out while talking me down off the water tower. I've only been screwed like that once in 17 months. Maybe I'm greedy or maybe I'm spolied, but that crap load pissed me off. I can make more locally and see my family every day.
Worst full week in the system paycheck was due to this load. 1450 for a 7 day week. Yeah, I ended up sitting the weekend in Cincinnati after running a dedicated up to Mechanicsburg.Last edited: Apr 13, 2019

One or two bad loads in 17 months isn't so bad. Talk to your office people and see if they can make things a little better for you.

Markham has a lot of those short crappy loads. All dispatchers save the best loads for domiciled drivers at that terminal. Someone has to cover them. This time it was you. Never turn down a load from Markham to get you home in NC. That's going to be better than average.
scythe08 and Mortarmaggot Thank this. -
I tell people all the time, even with good companies, sometimes they will give you the shaft. Some of the worse loads I’ve gotten are from markham, you better off just sitting a couple of days and collecting that 200 hundred dollars for layover!! There are ups and downs with every company, superior is no different.
Mortarmaggot and spindrift Thank this. -
I just finished a 1000+ mile run from TX to SC. I was supposed to pick up a second load and come back to TX. We're paid on a loaded/unloaded differential. Things at dispatch went sideways and I wasn't able to get back to TX loaded. Their screw-up cost me several hundred dollars. But like others have said, it was the first time something like this has happened to me so my fit of anger was short lived.
beastr123 and Mortarmaggot Thank this.
