I have two garmins. One is the 465t and so far it has not sent me anywhere it shouldn't. I have not be everywhere yet. My other Garmin is a 750. Why two? Because the 750 has an mp3 player built into it and I listen to books from audible.com. The 465t has bluetooth so I use it for my phone calls. I think what we need to do is to write to Garmin or which ever company we have a unit from and let them know the pluses and minsuses of their product. After all they want to build what we want. How hard would adding a paperless log be?

Respectfully, that statement is grossly inaccurate. To declare that a PCM Navigator "won't take you to ANY shipper/consignee's door" is throwing out a blanket statement that simply isn't true - even on the 2008 models.
And, just for posterity, which model was he using?
(PCM430 - 2008 maps, upgradeable for free to 2009 maps)
(PCM440/540/740 - 2009 maps on them, with 2010 map upgrade available in about 45 days)
(PCM450 - 2010 maps on it now)
You said you want accuracy. Route accuracy or address accuracy? (because the best route accuracy and the best raw address accuracy are not the same units.)
You said you want updates. All of them put out updates. Some are once per year, some are a couple of times a year, one is every quarter. And there are two types of "updates." Do you mean "program" updates or "map" updates? (because the answer to that is not the same for each unit either.)

I use the GPS as a tool, and in doing so, I use other information to assist in the setup for my destination.
My company gives directions on the QC. I use a mapping software package, Microsoft Streets and Trips to follow the directions along. When I have located the destination on the map, I check the LAT/LOG on the software, and place that in the 430.
I check the 430 to see that it routes me as desired, and I am ready to go. There will be instances with all of the new streets and roadways, to include allot of changes the your GPS may look as if you are in a field or on a service road, but these things will correct themselves. Mostly, common sense.

Click Menu / Settings / next page / next page / About CoPilot
It should say "Copyright 2009" in there. (data: alk.na.2009)
(this only applies to the 430. All other models already have these maps, except the 450, which has 2010 maps.) -
