I'm sure nearly every driver trained before the mid '90's will agree, the quality of new drivers got worse every year after, and exploded after '07 or so. To the point we have inexperienced drivers training new even more inexperience and so on. I blame the invention of cell phones, (smart phones in particular), but this is not a rant on phones, nor your trainers lack of experience.

Get a CB! Trucking is a constant learning experience, and it goes well when you have others helping, or even criticising you. The amount of turn over in new drivers, and rear end collisions are directly correlated to lack of CB. <-- meaning, you are more likely to fail in the first 3 yrs and either become unemployable or give up in frustration.

Just like you came here for experianced advice, in my opinion this is a must. And if you disagree, please post when you were trained?

I goofed and pressed tab, enter... I wasn't done, but think it contains the majority of the point.

Good luck my friends, and trucker safe!

The elders are the rudest self righteous know it alls out here. Especially when it comes to the mega drivers. The ones who need the help the most, run into stiff wall of piss off.

I truly hope this ain't true, but if it is, I suspect a new driver without a radio was warned about the stiff wall, and yes megas are suspect by nature, they are the ones that train drivers not to have a CB.

Eight years driving. No accidents. No complaints. No CB. You can keep the annoying chatter box and I'll use technology from this century thank you very much.

Some drivers will never understand why a cb is a very useful tool.
