Don't they also train them to ride that hammer lane no matter how much traffic you hold up or how many trucks pass you on the right!

CB radios are 20th century technology (from the 1900s), he was referring to 21st century technology (from the 2000s). So no, CBs are not from this century. They are from the last century.

I thought your point was that drivers trained BEFORE 2007 who used CBs were good drivers and drivers trained AFTER 2007 who didn't use CBs were bad drivers. That's what you said in the OP, but I have my doubts that you know what your point is, at this point, because your point is rather pointless and nothing more than conjecture. I'd like to see some evidence and/or cited studies on the correlation between rear-end collisions and the lack of CBs. Or on the correlation between driver turnover and lack of CBs. To be perfectly blunt, I'm pretty sure you just made that up out of thin air. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I was trained in '09. I have been continually employeed as a driver ever since. I've never had a rear end collision. I don't use a CB. I guess @Dominick253 and I are both outliers to the "correlation" of which you speak.

I remember trucking before CB radio. I also remember when it was fun to have one. My last few years I only had a CB because some places where I loaded/unloaded required I have one. Everybody has their own opinion about CB radio, as for me it stayed off.

    Dominick253 and TheDude1969 Thank this.

Common Sense. It is just something you cannot teach someone.

The CB is a relevant tool just like a paper map. I will always have one. My current radio is now 24 years old purchased used from another driver. I have a radio in my pickup truck also.

My point in the OP, was trainers w/out experience training more drivers, and more people without experience. The CB is a great way to continue to learn... Sorry you object?

As for your experience IDK, maybe get behind something proven to save lives? I truely don't understand the resistance to something so simple and cheap that can improve everyone's life?

And here is my proof, I will continue to add to it since you asked...

You will never convince me that just because you have a CB on you are a safer driver. When I drove I very rarely used a cell phone or played on my QUALCOMM (yes in my tractor I could operate mine while driving). Most of the time I was playing music on my XM RADIO. There were several things about CB I hated then and still do today. Pingers, Radio Rambo's, lot lizards, and the profanity in general. CB radio was much different in the 70s and into the 80s. Then I can remember actually enjoying the time on the CB. One of the fallouts of all of this is more and more people just turn theirs off. It is sad, but a fact in todays world. The last straw for me was a day when I was trying to get directions from another driver and a moron running power would not shut up long enough for me to get the directions. Very soon after that I was using a cell.

I feel the same way whenever I hear people complaining about GPS.
