Hello to everybody. I'm here to find out which companies to stay away from and which ones I need to try to work for. I graduated from a 3 week school in Pine Bluff, AR the end of last year and I have been employed by TNI since. I'm currently team driving with my dad part time and I would like to get in my own truck but TNI wont hire me as a solo. I'd like to stay with a company that slip-seats or is okay with me working 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. Any suggestions, help, or even criticism will be appreciated.

Welcome Tommy, if you take a job with a company be careful to fully investigate everything before you sign any sort of lease for a truck!! Just my two cents on that.

Hi Tommy,
There are a couple companies that you might look into. Schneider, Transport America, CRST (team only) and roehl are the ones that fit your needs. Here are the links to their sections on this site. Please remember you can not pm until you have 50 posts. If you need to do so, contact a staff member and he/she will be happy to do pass along receiving/incoming pm's.

Some other options are to see if companies have dedicated opportunities in your area. Also check your LTL's as most are home daily. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Welcome aboard!
My two cents (worth about .68 when taking inflation into account) is to anticipate your first job being very stressful and difficult, simply because it's different than anything else you've done. Get through that first year or so, and you'll probably be good to go. And I don't mean that as a negative, just stating fact.
I wish a forum like this had been available to me when I started in '97...would have saved me a LOT of headaches and uncertainty.
Good luck!!monoxide, kickin chicken and Baack Thank this. -
