BigKid2, the 61 was a type-o it is 63 and you're right the points will fall off.
Taz, It is obvious you are a o/o. I am a company driver. Most o/o are not forced dispatched but a company driver has to do what he's told or he will loose his job for not doing his job. I'll say this just one more time for those that don't understand or don't want to understand. When I started this thread it was to tell what happened to my wife and I so other drivers could see how easy it is to loose your job when you get any violations or citations. I never expected any sympathy but I didn't expect to get kicked either. For those that say I deserved what happened or like Taz wants to celebrate my misfortune for the loss of my job, the points I received and the fines I still have to Pay. I can only say I will dance for joy when it happens to you! Don't say it won't because you know #### well it can and will. If you drive long enough sooner or later you will do something wrong and there will be a cop there to see it. I have seen this attitude before. Remember years ago when you could have a decent conversation on the CB? You can't do that anymore unless you're talking to someone you know. There are so many on the CB any more that thinks it's funny or fun to be CB Rambo's, play their FM on the CB, farting, burping and you can go into any truck stop on any night and there is always someone on the radio that "doesn't have his panties on" How sick is that?!! This is the attitude of the modern day truck driver. Now it has moved here to these pages which was meant for drivers to help one another. Instead of help you get, quit crying, you deserved it, I'm glad you lost your job, you should have gotten even more tickets and so on and so on. Here is a famous quote that I try my best to live by!

"Be careful the environment you choose for it will shape you; Be careful the friends you choose for you will become like them".
    W. Clement Stone

This quote says it all. There are some good people on here and I thank each and everyone of them for their support and advise!

For the ones that just want to ridicule. You will not shape me and I will not be like you!!

Everyone has been a company driver in the past and whether they admit it or not, I am sure they have had to run on the illegal side.

I am also sure there are many that ridicule just to show they are better than anyone else. I just let them rant.

The fact that you posted what happened and the ease of which it could happen, should open some eyes. You did not have to be speeding for the officer to claim you were and pull you over.

I would not let them bother you. The water is well past the bridge now.:biggrin_25514:

You just don't get it do you.

I drive a company truck. But I drive for myself. Forced dispatch is a myth. Neither my company, my dispatcher, or anyone can make me turn that key in an illegal manner. No one and people that use fear as an excuse for their actions are a great reason for the demise of this industry!

All you talk of doing what you have to do, and jeopardizing you record, your job, and your career is what I am talking about. I call BS on every #### bit of it. Companies need good clean drivers now more than ever.

Brokers and customers are now examining the SMS as a deciding factor in whom they deal with. People like you and others that are to #### job scared to stand your ground when coerced are the reason behind the program. So yes I am glad it is working and I hope you take one lesson from this. Everything counts and it is your responsibility to be compliant. Not the dispatcher to monitor your hours or well being. Not the cops to cut you a break.

So yes I do enjoy the fact the system is starting to work. I hope drivers begin to grow the backbone they should have had all along. Sadly it will not be they will just be more scared of losing their career instead of just their job.

It has already started by people blaming the officers for their lack of leniency instead of blaming dispatchers for their lack of understanding, when they should look in the mirror and ask themselves why they chose to violate the law.

Gee I thought forced dispatch only meant that you had to take what load they gave you. Of course they can't force you to do it illegally. Haven't been on this forum long but it's making me feel like I did when I decided to shut my cb off for good.

If you're dispatched on a load, can't make the schedule and communicate in a timely manner - you're covered. If dispatch then threatens your job (make sure its on QualComm) and demands that you run illegally, they've violated federal law. You're entitled to sue and recover civil damages - if you're fired you can demand reinstatement. Its part of the Surface Transportation Assistance Act of 1982.

Agreed, but not in terms of CSA. That was a mistake made by one employee (a dispatcher) who violated a serious company and safety policy. Shall we keep it on topic?

We the drivers have to end this myth. And no I am not just talking about illegal moves. The company can not force you to drive anywhere. Now you may end you contract with them at that point but they can not make you do anything.

People constantly use an excuse of fear, coercion, and force to explain their actions. Horse hockey. Without drivers their trucks sit. Without good clean drivers they may not even get loads now.

Drivers have this mentallity that they are being hired by their company. I hired my company from my many choices to provide my truck. I chose them not the other way around, and I can change my choice.
