should have called the state troopers to find out what to do since pulling on the shoulder isnt safe or legal. possibly they would have given you a transport to a truck stop or something who knows. but with all the ridiculous rules out there for OTR drivers, if i was going to do anything remotely out of the book i'd be calling the cops to find out what to do.

yes you did do something wrong, and thankfully you accepted responsibility for it...

but also, no employer can pull up anyone's PSP with out written consent to do so, by us.....

your company had a policy, you violated it, they suspended the two of you, as since you were part of a team, both driver's are held accountable....your punishment is way too extreme i'd say....maybe a 1 or two week suspension if even that much at all would have sufficed..and by golly, YOU only have (about) 14 points on you now, for crying out loud, there are 5 Basics to the CSA, and no one knows, not even the DOT how many TOTAL points one needs to be in need of an "intervention"...i think you got a good chance at another job...

to challenge the CSA, one has to do so in writing, and include ALL information, not just that, "i don't deserve this ticket"....then it goes to the police agency for review, then a determination is made, but no lawyer can do anything for anyone till it goes to court.....and that can take months.....

yes, the officer did his job, the o/p violated the rules.

yes, he REALLY DID break the rules...he did not show that on his log, and since it is electronic logs, that would have shown up that HE DID violate the rules....it would have had to be the original driver to drive on to the nearest safe place, or just stayed parked there....then EXPLAIN THAT SITUATION to the cop...!!

    yep...

no loopholes... a violation was committed, this will not stand up in court if he persue's to try and get this removed from his CSA ..

i have a former student that got nailed for speeding..it was a warning actually, but he still got hit with CSA points, and he showed me his PSP that he paid to get..it only shows the violation as 5 points.....which is what it also says on the CSA website...

now however, MAYBE an actual ticket for the violation not a warning, gets a person triple points..i can only go by what i saw...but yes, i too have read where it is supposed to be triple points...

i can only report what was in front of me at that time....

we had a DOT guy at my school about a week ago, he claims CSA2011 is going thru more changes again......

    7 points, false log

7 points, driving after 14 hours

and i am reading the CSA site, a number 5 is the halfway point to severity of the score for risk of a crash..the o/p got 7...meaning a HIGHER risk of a crash than say a 5 (midway point), and he's got two number 7's in the risk for a crash score.

I went on the site and checked mine that shows points on an inspection where it had a flat and it was up 2 times at the time from it happening.

A friend got an oos and it was 3 times within the same year.
