I was there back in 2006 and trucks were set at 72...then they went to 68....then 65...and they use to let us idle when fuel was cheap. But in the end 4.00 per gallon was hurting them...an APU would have solved the issue but they cost 10 K and they had 800 trucks. From what I gathered....drivers were expendable.
However, I did make good money but .....stayed out for months and the wife road with me.
