Wait a minute SRT will only hire you if you have 1 year OTR. And your turning down .57 CPM WHAT THE HICK??? And then someone is going to hand you keys to a 18 SPD 550 cat Pete Car and you just got out of training, what insurance company does he have? Come on Edmund tell us what really happen?

Yeah, well it's his cousin, Chad. Family and all, ya' know. i've known cousins who were closer than bros. And FFE is starting to be known for top notch training, but still....

And he seems to be the only recent grad that seems to be getting the toodle so I guess I shouldn't suffer too big a nicker twister yet.

Well, since nobody's answered you I guess I'll give it a go. Now, keep in mind that I don't officially work for them yet. I start FFE driver academy next monday. They are using Freightliner Cascadia and Int'l Prostars for the most part. They are currently replacing a lot of the older fleet with new Cascadias but there has been kind of a hold up on the supply side slowing things down.

Any FFE drivers want to debunk, correct, or add on for BigDaddyDanny's edification please jump on in here.

No accidents...nothing at all nor any explanation as to why they let me go...I completed phase 2 training tested out....Sal was my evaluator said he didn't like my lane control, mirror watching and the way I drive with one hand on the steering wheel and one wheel on the shifter. He failed me,never gave me a second chance to test out a second time.J.D. called me in that little room behind his cubical and laid it all down basic saying the company decided it was best to just let me go and not to be discouraged by this and that I could still put FFE on my resume...basically no hard feelings. My cousin owns the truckin company and all the eqiupment and that petes paid for itself 12 times over for him so its nothing for him to sign it over to me...granted the insurance will be high due to my lack of experience, and all those other companies have all mailed literiture to my house....all things happen for a reason Chad....it is what it is....

Will driving with one hand on wheel and one hand on shifter during your test out is not wise. Now take it you can do that when you solo but NOT ADVISED!!!!! Didn't your trainer tell you not to do that during test out? Will the reason they let you go, you failed to test out. Sorry it happened like that good luck to you. Be careful driving that PETE CAR you will love it.

Holy crap Edmund! I did not know that the final eval is so #### strict with almost no margin for error! As you have described it, it almost sounds as if the decision was made before the key was turned and they were looking for a reason to justify it by calling you out on the hand on the shifter deal. And no 2nd chance to retest? I would think that if it was all about bad technique, that they would give you a chance to polish up on things like proper signals, double clutching, proper steering wheel control, or whatever it was they had an issue with.

Whole lot different then saying "hey you blew through that red light, or you were texting and driving, or you cant shift to save your life, maybe trucking isnt for you".

But to disqualify you because you didnt have both hands on the wheel is just a raw deal. But i am glad that you were able to land on your feet. Wish you luck and good numbers.
