It is a means to an end. Get your experience, fulfill your one year, then if you're not happy with FFE good luck. But the way everything is now, I'm glad to have free tuition, a free room, only 1 year commitment, and my class a cdl back, and a job when I get free from the trainer. Better stay somewhere for a while due to economy. And this company is debt free. How many companies in the USA can brag this? Hope you like it, for me and mine...this is my house.

I have mostly drop and hooks which is nice. E LOGS there not so bad. I was out of trucking myself for 7 years. Loving this company so far. I know the people at the school very well, Greg Peace, David Bilbo, Kandi Brooks. They are excellent people to know. Greg really has a passion for this industry. Good luck and tell them Chad Hardcastle said HI, tell Greg I said BOOMER SOONER!!!! He will get a kick out of it. Good luck..

It's always oneday that is totally boring, however think once you're over the road and making money. At least you in the academy I still have another month before I get back in the game. Remember drive safe!

Sorry I haven't updated on my status here at FFE been keeping me rollin. This week I will have 3200 miles on this paycheck, not bad. By the time I get to the receiver they already have me pre planned on a another load, they keep you running. My truck is great was very well kept by last driver. To all the students at the Academy when you go to the yard stay away from the negative people there, don't let them suck you in their world. This company is awsome just keep you eyes focused on the road ahead, no pun intended.

Well, today was the first turning and shifting day. Like I said, I have 12 years of experience, but like Playmaker i was out for 7 years watching my kids get thru high school. i knew I was coming back, but didin't realize it would be as tough getting my CDL back. But, from my research, the CSA 2010 will be paving the road for newer or returned drivers. The CSA has already culled some of the more risky and ticket riddled drivers from the herd. Now is a good time. A perfect time to get back into trucking. Here at FFE Academy I know for a fact that contracts have been signed and a deal with Freightliner will bring 1000 new trucks to the fleet over a 3 year span. Good future.
If the Academy continues to pursue their academic model, it should put out some good trainees instead of a driver mill. The secret will be ...small classes, instructor to student ratio. The accelerated program is the ticket. I have been bombarded with study demands and forced to assert myself to the program. It should be FFE boot camp. Watch out fat perspective FFE trainees, when the CSA's Driver BMI study (Body Mass Index) will start looking at the possibility that BMI, contributes to sleep Apnea, which is bad. Especially for a driver....a driver anywhere. any company. So, start looking at your weight and fitness...it will happen. Over all, having a blast. Playmaker, keep trucking, see you out there soon :bootyshake: :smt079

Will I got my OPTI IDLE fixed so I was off the yard on Friday. Took a load up to Tulsa OK Just to get off yard. Before I got there I was pre planned on a load out of Cactus TX going to Phoenix AZ, that drops on Tuesday at 0100 in the AM. So I scaled the load out of Cactus and I was over on my drives by 300 lbs, then I thought "wait a minute I am going through NEW MEXICO were you can run 34320 on drives" dispatch wanted me to take it back but I told them about NM weight limits and I would run half tanks in AZ, so I kept rolling. And get this dispatch told me thank you, I know I almost feel out of the truck. They already have me pre planned on a load going out of Rio Rico AZ. going to Grandview WA. OH YA there some miles it's going to be a good week. It was a pleasure meeting everyone there at the Academy Grand Opening all the new students. Take care be safe.
