They do have a lease program. U have to run for 6 months before u can lease. From what I am told it isn't to bad. And yes they have a pet policy. Spat has a dog and I will be getting one soon.

Wow Sorry to here that the wonders of technology. It is supposed to be helpful and save us time and for the most part it does. Then you have an issue and get stuck. So I take that to mean that if the people net is not working you are not able to go to paper logs until it gets fixed?

Also I have a question I was taking a practice test and there was a question that threw me. When you have a secured load what are you supposed to do before hauling it? The answer was to inspect the load. If it is secured and you were not there for the loading how are you supposed to inspect the load? Was a little thrown by this.

First off we need to change your profile PIC, STEVENS Truck??? Just kidding with ya. Tricky question, think about flat bedders on this question the make sure load is secure because they can see their load. As for us Box pullers we have a little vent door on the right side door that we can open sometimes as long as it's not sealed to shine a flash light up in the back to make sure load is not shifted. If we can't do that it's out of the drivers hands when picking a load up on a pre loaded trailer. But the shipper and company know this.

    FifthWheelJocky Thanks this.

You can run paper logs if it does go haywire. We are required to have one paper log per driver on board.

    FifthWheelJocky Thanks this.

Okay the Avatar was a good point. Thought for a while about going with Stevens. Good drivers I just like FFE better. Thank you for the insight so a sealed load should always be inspected unless unable to do so then it is on the shipper. Question if that happens should I get something from the shipper stating that I have not seen the contents of the load. This way I CMOA if there is something wrong at the delivery point.

Some of your bills will say "SHIPPER LOAD AND COUNT". If you pick up a loaded trailer and it is seal then the shipper knows that you are not responsible. Now let's say you have multiple stops on a pre loaded trailer. After that 1st drop then you ate responsible for the securement of the rest of the load. You will use load locks until the trailer is empty.

Thanks PlayMaker that makes sense just want to make sure once I am out there that I have the knowledge on keeping my back side covered. Have the newer Tractors gone to air disk brakes yet or is that technology still to new and expensive?

Does any one know of a good web site where you can do free or inexpensive practice tests for the Texas CDL?
