CRIST.COM for the practice test itll come up like crist.cdl or some such , but its free several genearl knowledge test and airbrakes and hazmat(just for fun) congrats rkd nice work

 

Thanks for the advice. I am just looking so forward to this opportunity. I am like others I have listened to on this site. I am now 58. I got married and she was pregnant, ended up having 4 kids. At that point you just do what you have to. I remember being at a Kenworth dealer the day before I found out. That was 1978. In that situation dreams go on hold. Life was hard but wonderfull, as being a father has been incredible. In the early 90s we split, kids stayed with me. I have been blessed with a great life. My oldest son was just like all of my children, just wonderful. He excelled as a proud Marine, but we lost him in 2008. All my kids are grown and support my decision. I am not the type of person who wants to be the stud, I would like to be known as someone who helped their fellow classmates make it through. I just look forward to fulfilling a dream and maybe making a little difference for others. I have spent 25 years in a career I hated, but served its purpose. Now, it is time for me.

 

RKD, did you get more practice today, or are you just waiting?

 

We did alley docking all day and tomorrow we are brushing up on straight line backing. The way it was told to me was that we are going straight to DPS monday to road test which will be fine as long as we take the truck I have been driving all week. Each truck drives different and the clutches are way different. Some are nice and easy while others are stiff as a board. I had a stiff ### one for my road test and it caused me to miss a double down because pushing it like I normally do didnt even disengage it at all. So hopefully they pick a good truck to take.
