Anyone have any info on the LTL side of the house? I have a week and a half before I upgrade and thats pretty much what I have decided I want to do.

As for taking the truck home....in most cases yes, as long as you have a safe place to park. With LTL they dont like it so much.
rkd8582 Thanks this. -
Now ltl regional is good, .35 per mile, $30 per stop and $750 per week min. You only deal with one terminal. -
The only terminal that is close to me is in NJ and from what I hear its a ltl mostly terminal. Should I just ask for LTL regional once I get upgraded or wait till I get to the terminal in NJ?

If you have been thru the Academy then the man to contact is Dave Bilbo @ the school, he has all the connections and knows ltl very well. Seems to be a good, no B.S. kinda guy.
Burlington is a LTL terminal, Its a new building in a nice area. The staff can seem a bit harsh If you dont have a lot of exp with New Yorker attitudes. If your in Va ltl regional might work out well. Still...run truckload for a bit first.rkd8582 Thanks this. -
Its funny that ltl was just brought up, and today I have a ltl local run.
Went on 10 hr break @ 6 pm last night, got a call @ 9 saying my first drop was 1am.....
Ummmmm ok...I told her I cant start till 4:15 and she said she would call back.
No call, so I let dallas know. Get to the first stop @6 refused, second stop @ 7 its not refused but the lumpers are all gone and said I would have to break down all of the pallets and segragate, called dallas and they said I wont get paid to do that....so I,m at the 3rd stop and I have to unload the first 2 loads ( for free) with a hand pallet jack.
This is sooooo common for ltl local.
Truckload is a blast, ltl....bite me! -
I'm not sure what the amounts are now, but in 2009 you got to claim 80% of $58.00 a day for every day you were on the road. No receipts required. If you were paid per diem on a per mile basis you would figure your 80% and then deduct the amount you were paid and you can then claim the rest as a deduction.
It sounds like FFE is paying the 80%, although if it is still $58.00 it should be $46.40 a day. You also only get credit for half a day any day you go on or come off home time.
Oh, this is just food and drink money. Other supplies for the truck etc can be itemized separately. -
I just left David Bilbo a message so hopefully he calls me back soon or ill just have to shoot him an email.
