Hi guys ive been reading your 200 page thread lol
What are the employment history requirements? How far back do they need to verify or do they verify past employment at all? -
@mattp My fault, its late, I meant to say "worse" CSA score is what I heard.
@Jack Not sure, but I'd like to know as well. I applied for one trucking company who has STRICT rules in terms of employment history so I'm trying someone else. It's not that I have a poor work ethic, just didn't meet the companies standards. As for FFE, not sure. -
Yes, FFE has a crap csa score. That is why the academy was put in place, so they can get rid of the old unsafe, lazy drivers and replace them with new safe responsable drivers. It is working and the score is getting better.
-
the way i see it is any company u work for with a crap score just means u have to cross every i and dot every t, ffe is an ok company heck they helped me earn my cdl almost 6 years ago good luck
-
I dont have that problem, never been called around back at the scale house. never been stopped. I did have a roadside inspection but got an all clear.

@Spat How does the lease program through FFE work? I'm deciding between two right now, but wanted to get more info and do my research on FFE. Rather hear from the horse's mouth (someone who been through it) rather than "assume" all the details.
BTW, what's up with the FL Century trucks... are they being phased out? I'm not picky about equipment but I read someone say they have the FL Centuries in their fleet and their getting outdated. -
Well...ANY company lease is gonna screw you. I would never lease unless I was a husband wife team running for a few years and settled into a dedacated run.
Other than that I think its too risky.
As for the old century class trucks...they are being phased out. Most of the 07s are gone. 08-09-10 are still around but once they get too 500k the get booted out of the fleet. Some of the better ones are kept as training trucks at the academy.
The new trucks are Cascadia, vulva and prostars.
Cascadia is going to be the bulk of the fleet as time goes on. -
Although it sounds like leasing is terrible, I think its all about being efficient. Controlling fuel would be the hardest expense to control, but assuming the price of the lease payments, APU, insurance, etc. is reasonable, and the lease-operator mileage fee is fair, lease-operating can be profitable.
That's based on what I know so far. Of course, there's more to it than what I mentioned but it seems fuel is what is killing a lot of the profit, along with finding the best routes of deliveries.
Anyone able to provide some insight as to a sample of what they profit from an FFE lease program? -
all that is the easy part, but breakdown, shipper delays, loaded heavy, there are so many variables. I would give yourself a few years of seat time as a company driver first.
