yea unfortunately he did have problems with the ops side and the major problem was the old head of the fleet managers/planners. he took the side of the fleet managers and said the hell with drivers. if you didn't have a problem with the dispatch you were fine but if you did most times nothing was done to correct it. he is now gone and the man that took over is VERY VERY helpfull to us and is wanting the company to work seamlessly. unfortunatly it was late for play. i personally have had no problems with the company in that way so i am good but i know i will have a problem from time to time. we will see how they rectify the problem but i am liking it so far as i have seen it with spats problems with his truck and it was taken care of very well. he went to bat for us against the shop and other people that are in the office to help us and ultimatly the company so that is a VERY GOOD SIGN.

Exactly what Freeze said, keep a good attitude about it all and do what they say and they will work with you. Its going to take a lot of seat time before you get the shifting down pretty good. Hell I've driven for 5yrs and I still grind a gear here and there. don't get frustrated with it take your time and try to think it through you'll get it in the end if you stick with it. -
Anyway, good to hear its going well for you though. I'm still sitting down in miami waiting for them to give me ok to head up to dundee or something. Would like to have access to showers and whatnot you know.
/sigh -
Not to go on about PM leaving but just my two cents of it that its a sad day to have lost such a good assest for the company. Its a shame but stuff like this goes on all the time at most companies and all I can say is its the companies that lose out in the end because it will be harder and harder to have such high caliber drivers working for them when they don't care about the drivers they have.
Hoping that CSA's and changes to industry will cause companies to change there ways when they don't have drivers to move their freight. -
You would think, but exp drivers Have an attitude and dislike when you prove what they are doing is wrong.
As for playmaker, I spoke with him today, and he had nothing but good things to say about the company, and school. He butted heads with someone and that was the problem...it is a person not the company he has the problem with. I am very happy and running good, will I stay? who knows, as I learn more about the industry I may move on for more money. The few problems I run into are just industry issues not the company per say. My DM Really does his job well, and has no problem going to bat for me when I have issues.
The industry has a mindset that wont change, however FFE is the best way to get into a truck and get a CDL IMO. Yes there are days that really suck, however I have never had a job that was perfect.
The school is hard and a lot of people fold under the pressure, the whiners, thin skinned, poor work ethic, and eaisly stressed will be weeded out. Dont forget, the entire time you are at the Academy you are being watched and the above traits will be exposed. I have worn many hats in my life and this career is the most challenging and rewarding. If I had to do it again,I would make the same choices.
Just do what you gut tells you, most of the time its the correct decision for you.Last edited: Feb 2, 2012
