Hey, there is one attitude you cannot go wrong with here, and that's a yes/no sir/ma'am attitude.
Do what the instructors tell you, practice their methods, there is a method to this madness and it works!
These guys want safe professional drivers, and if you think remotely you might not fit that build, you have to ask yourself if your time is worth this. I know mine is, even at times when I'm doubting myself and thinking of all the people that have been sent home, I'm not giving up, and I'm not changing my attitude for anything.
Because I will answer my instructors with a yes/no /sir/ma'am, because it is what they're looking for. Paramilitary truckers -
you are right. there is a level of proffesionalism that they want you to develop and take with you on the road. It would be expected off you to act like a pro when dealing with DOT, with customers, and with the general public. of course there is always those who don't respect themselves enough to take a bath, or dress appropriatly when dealing with customers, and it makes us all look bad. example: two guys show up to the window, one smells and is dressed like a hobo, and the other is squared away. I promise you the guy who has his act together will be treated better. i am not saying you will get unloaded faster, i am saying you will be shown the respect your appearence demands.

so if i have my cdl with class a , do i still need too take the written exams and what kind of test are there , open book or , anyway know how much a refresher course is
-
if your cdl is current, you won't go to dps. you will get your medcard and you will be on the backing range with everyone else. instead of starting on a monday like those who don't have a cdl, you will arrive wed-thu to begin range training.
Everett Thanks this. -
