Lol no lie. Speaking of lies, turns out one of my classmates wasn't lying about an interview when you get out to Lancaster. Its pretty simple, go in nod your head and sign the papers.
Assuming the truth was told about your MVR record, you shouldn't have any problems.

FFE starts academy drivers headed to midlands out at 18.50 or something, after 6 months it bumps to either 20 or 22/hour.
Couldn't tell you what an experienced driver is looking at.
All the overtime you can pump in, new trucks and good benefits. -

After 4 years of driving trucks in the Army. The main trucks I drove where the M1075 w/ M1076 trailer, M915 w/M872, and M1070 w/ M1000. I also drove the LMTV's and Hummvee's. I am getting out of the Army and moving on to bigger and better things. I did my research around and I feel that FFE will be the best fit for me and my family. My wife and I are not too worried about the home time. We are used to being apart anyway. I was gone for 2 years out of 4 with the Army.
Anyway, I start with FFE on July 9 and I am looking forward to yet. I have been taken the practice test online (with studying) and passed them with flying colors just from what I have learned in the Army. So far, my FFE recruiter as been upfront with me and honest. They are also one of the few companies that will count my military experience. I have my 348 (military driver training records) and letters of recommendations from my current and previous commanders.
I looked at other companies, but almost none of them wanted to even acknowledge that I have experience driving trucks. They acted like I was some dumb kid off the street that didn't I know what I was doing. I called FFE and my recruiter was friendly and answered all my questions. He loved the fact the fact that I am military and even put in writing for me that I will start at pay rate that reflects my level of training and knowledge.
I am looking forward to attending the school on 9 July 2012. I could have went out and got my CDL on my own, but I wanted to learn the FFE ways. -
The food is amazing man.

Sitting in the Lancaster terminal...gonna have to wait for a few days for a trainer. Could be worse, at least they're paying me and the beds at the hotel are comfortable. I have a room to myself tonight. Food at the hotel is excellent and the service is comensiary with the amount FFE is paying for us to stay there. Half of me is glad I'm not with an lTL trainer until my departure, half of me is annoyed. The train of thought being, lTL and local is bascialy running errands, the other side being that its that much longer I have to wait to finish my OTR training. Like I said, it could be worse.

How was the driver academy for you? I start on July 9.

@ macho The academy is is excellent. Its hard, as well. You will lose over half your class so don't get super close to folks there.
Which reminds me, Buckeye, how did your class fair through the road evaluation?MachoCyclone Thanks this.
