I was there for a year (quit at the end of October) I averaged just over 10k a month in spite of the sometimes crazy dispatching and long waits for PO's for lumpers, etc. That works out to 3k gross a month, less one cent for my dog, more for the wife, etc. I'd have stayed if they'd pay more. It's true that much depends on the individual driver and how well one manages one's time. I like that part of it, being efficient and making all the right moves. Good luck

Has anyone on here ran tankers in Midland, TX? If so could you share your experiences. Thanks!

Hey everyone, I originally composed these questions for Playmaker but now I see he's no longer with FFE and hasn't posted here in quite a while, so I'll just put them out there for anyone else who cares to comment. I've been researching trucking schools for a little while and started reading Playmaker's thread on FFE, which I'm now interested in applying for due in part to all the helpful info that's been posted here.

But I've a couple of concerns that might be an impediment to me. First, I have a dwi on my driving record but it's been a little over 7 years since that happened. If I recall correctly, FFE only went back 5 years on your driving history regarding that, so maybe I'll be ok there. The second is my work history. I'm asking about this here since I've seen mention on this thread that Playmaker and some others had gone through periods of unempolyment/self-employment before applying to FFE. I'm kind of in the same boat and was wondering how problematic this was for you and how they handled it.

I'm a college educated guy but have not done much work in my field of training (graphic design) for a while other than freelance work, which has been harder and harder to come by as the years have gone by. Hence, my interest in another career opportunity. So, other than the sporadic freelance design work, I've been either unemployed or underemployed for the last few years, working mostly jobs that paid just cash or cash plus room and board (maintenance work at motels, etc.). Therefore documenting my most recent work history may be an issue for me. I've never been on unemployment during this time either, but I suppose they could contact some of the people I've worked for in person or something if it came to that.

Will this be a deal breaker for them do you think?

I'm also interested in the previous posters question. Hope someone has info on that.

In my class there was a total of 42 people by that first Thursday. We graduated with 11. I have been on the road for almost 4 weeks now. Should end my training period on the 21st of December.

Can you get training in Atlanta? I have my CDL but, I've not driven in three 3.5 years. Interested in the lease too.

All training is done at the school in Fort Worth. FFE does operate a small (packed) LTL yard in Lithonia.
