So I am set to start school on 7/14 barring any hiccups from my background check. Anyone currently in school, orientation, training, driving has any updates? Any recommendation on what to bring, etc?

Shower shoes, small fan, towel, sunglasses and a good attitude. I went through the academy a few years ago. Drove for FFE for my year. Everything was great until they were bought. Then I left. Good luck.

Hmm not sure, but yes in TX, assuming Lancaster is where their school at

i remember reading about u on this thread. I guess its that bad now that kllm had bought them out? And now their refresher course is only 7 days long. Also, the recruiter said I might have a good chance to work LTL since I am about 60 miles from Stockton, CA terminal, and he said they need drivers bad. Driving mostly the Western states, and a good chance to be home weekly. Is this something that I might be able to get into right after training or the recruiter just selling pitch?

What i am most afraid of is I wont be able to do alley dock, and parallel parking within this 7 days and might be sent packing. Since many have had trouble with the 14 days program before. I can only imagine how much more intense and less patient these instructors will be in their new 7 days course.

For current or former FFE drivers, do u recall how long did the background take and did u also get a copy of the report sent home? Thanks

I'd say good chance, I'm no longer with them, but I have a friend doing LTL out west, seems to like it, pays pretty good.

Actually, you want to be sent home. That way you are relieved of the 1 year obligation. FFE/KLLM is a crap company. KLLM ruined the whole thing. I make almost double the money as a company driver for jbhunt. Klem will run u your first 6 weeks then you will see your pay shrink drasticly. Yes, there is a hanfull of drivers doing ok but the majority dont. Divide your pay by the 70 hour work week and dony be shocked when u see that its less than minimum wage.
