Tommarow should be my last day of oreintation before they pair me up with a trainer, so far filled out my insurance packet, final application, open road career protection and learned alot about how the company operates.....by the look of things I'll be doing truck load and not LTL...it is what it is...either way as long as I get payed thats all that matters.:biggrin_25511:

As for me, at the end of day 2 of training, we went from a class of 19 yesterday, to a class of 14 today. Some due to medical, some just didn't prepare themselves for the reality of the situation.

I was able to pass all 5 permit tests today at the texas DPS office, so tomorrow I will be on the backing range. Finally got moved into the dorms, although I give up the free breakfast, I at least get I to sleep in a 1/2 hour more.

Everything so far has been exactly what I expected with no unpleasant surprises. Instructors are great, med staff is great, admin staff is great. Expect to apply yourself if you want that cdl, no one here is going to let you slide. If you try, you can do it.

Facilities for the students are clean and well maintained. Don't expect the Ritz, but you can expect all your basic needs to be addressed here.

Luckily for me the weather has been and is expected to continue to be mild, and in the 80's. Guessed i timed it just right after all.

For those of you who finished the academy, or currently attending, did they teach y'all anything about chains?

Ya if you need to chain you don't need to be driving. That's always been my theory as well.

So, do all the recruiters at this place not return phone calls. I am thinking about calling in and seeing if I can deal with someone else.
