OK, now i have to say something, yens are going to have to put your thinking caps on ( truck shortage) lets see there is not enough drivers quitting per month (OR) there down sizing just a bit, (OR both) and lets not forget doing the fall and winter months business gets slower, flatbed, dry van, reefer, it all gets slow, you'll get some new trucks in the spring, heres the link http://truckinginfo.com/news/news-detail.asp?news_id=74909

there is a shortage of trucks because ffe traded in there older trucks and i guess freightliner is behind on production because of this some orientation classes for experienced drivers are being held up until nov. from what i have been told

Actually I heard FFE's sorting things out,Freightliner has been unable to keep up with FFE's qouta....but I've heard FFE's lookin to upgrade the fleet with 387's,T660's and T700's thats what I'm hearing through the grapevine...don't know how true it is though.:biggrin_25520:

From the message me and my trainer got on the people net....they want to get back to being more profitable....their trading in all their 07's I'd imagine because of the downtime with them sitting in the shop as much as they do....and as much as I've been in the drivers lounge and seen some of the older generation of drivers they currently have.....which is extremly hard to believe they have a medical card clearing them to drive when their 400 lbs and could barely climb into a tractor not to mention some of the ones who do nothing but bellyache and complain about all kinds of stuff and have crappy attitudes my guess is they're the ones being shown the door and their trucks being traded in for new ones....and BTW its not just an image thing...its also a health thing as well....and its not just an FFE mandate....its CSA 2012 now.....thats just the way it is....

Thinking of Going to to FFE Driver Academey. I spoke to a recuiter today is name was Tony b. but i was at work so i couldnt get to really ask so many question. One question i did ask him was "what happens if you fail out of school, are you liable?" and his response was " well if you come he and your serious we wont charge you but we have had come come in a clown around so we charged them". I honestly didnt even know what to say to that.

Can anyone answer that for me? and no i am not worried about failing out but i am worried about failing out and now havingn a loan to pay.

That response was not enough to "scar" me away from FFE. Anythoughts on how the school is as far as training? what the cost is? what is the pay after training? can i take the truck home? what do miles avg? I am just trying to choose the right trucking company to go with.

I need to provide for my family and if i have to run hard and be away from home to make sure that gets down then i will. i am not afraid of hard work.

Schools great here....you certainly will have to apply yourself though, personally I think this is the best time to start schooling here because winter is about to start so you'll get the benifit of training in adverse weather conditions.I'm gonna be starting out at .29 cents a mile due to my lack of expeirence which is more than some other companys start out with no otr experience, you'll make $455 a week while in phase 2 training and that should give you a general idea of how the business operates. What you'll average all depends on what you'll be running for example...LTL,TL,local,teams solo dedicated....all depends on that...if you have no problem being out 2 to 3 weeks out on the road away from your family you make a good living. In this business its what you make of it.:biggrin_2558:
