whats the deal with TA raiseing the cost of a shower! Like $10 wasnt enough! It cannot possibly cost that much to operate the showers, 1 shower cleaning slave $7.25/hr 3 minutes tops to clean each shower, a couple bucks to wash the towels, and a few more to buy the soap and mints the i hope no one eats.

Times the 10's of 1000's of showers taken every day at TA Truck stops..... Sheet even 1000 showers a day at $10 is $10,000 what a freakin rip off!

I've already asked that guy from the Petro-T/A that posts here about the showers...Like, Why do my showers expire after a week or so?

I was fed a line of Bullshi+ about how showers are a losing proposition and blah, blah....So I'm sure they'll justify the ridiculous cost of a shower with more BS because that's what they do best...Lie to and steal from drivers.

oh i hope he responds to my post then! I'd would like to know how the ONLY thing the attracts allot of drivers to TS's isn't makeing them tons of money.

Sheet you could probably make a furtune opening a chain of TS's with just a HUGE parking lot and Nice clean showers for a decent price and put the big chains out of biz. No need for dennys or any other crap takeing up room.

If you have the platinum ultra one card, they should not expire. But they do max you out on 10 showers.

I may go stay there tomorrow night, and the night after, and the night after. I am to far to DH home without getting in trouble.

You folks can believe me or not. I cannot control that. However, math does not lie. The mistake you are all making assuming truck stops make a bundle on showers is that many drivers actually pay money for a shower. In truth, only about 10% actually have to pay. That means that for every 10 showers taken, the TS makes $10.00 or $11.00, or about $1.00 per shower. Do you think it costs more than $1.00 to clean, maintain, and upgrade a shower? Well, it does, and it is significantly more. I speak no lies. It costs every TS chain money to operate showers.

I have no reason to lie. We make a good living just like any other viable business an I will not apologize for that. But we do not make it on showers.

OK....Then for conversations sake, Let's call it being disengenuous! The question I asked was why my showers expire after a week or so when the money that I pay for fuel to earn that shower doesn't!
You can claim all day long that you lose money on showers and it'll be nonsense all day long because you are making money on the fuel that I buy to earn that shower and then taking it away from me a week later if I don't use it.

This is a perfect example of the "truckstop double speak" You claim that 10% of showers are "not paid for" but it is not true...I am paying far more than $10.00 for that shower with my $700.00 fuel purchase and yet you neglect to mention that fact when you try to justify the lie that showers are a money loser for truckstops!

To claim that "showers are a losing proposition" for the truckstop industry is an insult to the intelligence of the person you make the claim to.
The only reason that I buy the overpriced fuel at the T/A-Petro locations is because you have pretty decent showers for the most part...I could usually get a slightly better price on my fuel at MOST of your competitors but the showers give me a small incentive to patronize your locations.

The claim that the shower is not "paid for" is a lie and you know it!

It has already been said, but perhaps you'll understand it this way: if you didn't have showers or if you didn't give a shower with fuel, your sales on other items (restaurant, c-store, etc.) would be wayyyy down. Now do you understand how you make $ on showers?

And yet some truckstops have nicer showers and only charge 3 bucks.
