No. 38cpm pay. That went away almost as soon as it was implemented. Most first year drivers will earn around 90k.
-
Then why all the bad reviews??
-
Many reviews are from non Walmart private fleet drivers who had the misfortune to work hauling our freight for an outside carrier. Walmart private fleet isn't what it used to be, but it's still quite a good driving job.
I've said in various other posts, I've not made less than 90k in the six years I've been here, couple of years have been above 100k. Not killing myself to do it, either.BigDog Trucker and Lonesome Thank this. -
So who in the company made these changes? Second all of you want to be home every weekend? But then want to stay in the same. Truck? I mean? Really? They want you to leave the truck clean? How ridiculous? God forbid a Walmart driver is inconvenienced? I mean you work for Walmart. Frankly Walmart is private property. Local ordinances should not apply to you parking on private property. As long as you are not idling. Frankly only solution I see for all you elite Walmart drivers is to team.

For the last two years there was record. RECORD gains in the the trucking industry. This is fact on every measurable statistic available.

So I can assume from this comment you are saying the op is factually incorrect?

Most likely you were lucky enough to come in to a terminal being repowered with company drivers or lucked in to a terminal with high turnover. Most drivers starting out are extra and casual in the older terminals. No truck assignments or working a program makes it harder to make that $100 starting pay then. Jump seating is on the increase at many terminals as full time trucks are being converted to programs after a full time driver leaves. At larger and more established terminals, it will be several years before newbies will get an assigned truck if ever. Smith is determined about that. Used to be WalMart promoted the image of being a top professional driver as the draw....now, they only have the lure of money... a sad turn in the long run.
