Couple of points of clarification.
New drivers before 10/1 did not start at $.54. They started at $.44. Yes now they start at $.38. Still an opportunity to make over 80k a year when you figure accessorial, safety, bonus as well as close to 4 weeks off paid in the first year. Not work a full year and then get PTO. It is earned from day one. In six months you could have two weeks paid vacation accrued.
It has always been policy to have your truck clean and ready for an extra driver when you leave for days off. That policy has not changed, nor should it. It is your responsibility to maintain the tractor. If you keep it clean in the first place cleaning takes about 10 minutes at the end of your week. You can leave any accessory you wish. Yes they ask you to remove food because it spoils, bedding and clothing so the truck can be utilized.
We haul Walmart freight. That means yes you will run where Walmart needs you to run. Idf private fleet is going to survive it has to limit empty miles, adapt to freight needs, and deliver it when needed.
The New Walmart and what you can expect.

They were never a home delivery. Now they have partnered with some company to do it. Name escapes me at the moment. -
Yeah some will still "go shopping" but the next generation wants stuff to magically appear upon their doorstep at their demand. -

But if you get a 5 day truck on bid you will get that truck every week you work. Or if you get the right program teammates I have had radios, Sirius, microwaves, TVs we all bought and just left for everyone use.
I took a Tuesday out extra board so I have Sundays off with my grandkids. I could have had a Wednesday or Thursday truck but I would rather have Sunday. It takes me about 15 minutes to have my stuff in or out of a truck.Lonesome Thanks this. -
My biggest surprise of the OP is starting new drivers at 38cpm. I always thought the Wally job was the gold standard, sad. Another one bites the dust.

Never got my pay down graded and it would have topped out at.5050 and .5650 on weekends if the freeze didn’t start.
I did have to sign a paper too which I think grand fathered me in.
All drivers started at .54 cents s mile? Or did they have to work up to it? Idk cause you’re saying the senior drivers make ,60 a mile on weekends....wow that’s real goodLast edited: Mar 29, 2018

I heard that the senior drivers pay never had a cap and the guys here 20 years or more could be making .60+ any truth to this?!
