Folks beyond poplar belief it is not that hard to teach someone to shift. It just is not.
Now yeah they can get a computer to do it for you. Shifting is very little to do with what we do. Yeah sure some are to lazy to learn it, but it ain't that hard.

But like anything it just takes repetitions. Anyone could shift a truck with the proper time and training. They trained a #### chimp to shift in pattern.
All of our skills take time and training and focus. To many wash out because they are impatient and unfocused.drvrtech77, Mike_77 and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this. -

As you old timers know, to get in the bunk you had to crawl out of the seat and onto the dog house to get into the "sleeper" which was nothing more than a mattress behind the seats. You had to pretty much lay down to get undressed, and there were no cabinets to stow your bags. You either kept it/them on the passenger seat or in one of the side boxes. Today's sleepers truly are condos compared to back then.Dennixx Thanks this. -
Most autos are terrible for backing, especially on inclines. They are very hard to throttle without being jumpy. Inclines make it a lot worse.
I would rather back with a manual than an auto anyday.
Except for the new Macks. I believe E7s. They got those autos right. They are very easy to back with. They take off hard off the line going forward too.Tx Countryboy Thanks this. -
