I had the same problem because of Carrier 911. I finally did get a random in Fl scales. Mentioned it to the Officer. He suggested volunteering, that a lot of O/Os do every year. Said he hears the horror stories about other States nitpicking. I passed even though I had a mudflap missing on my Tractor. Hanger was damaged. 2 days later in Michigan, 10 miles from home, and my spare mudflap hanger, I got a roadside random. Got cited for it. It was wrong. I had a Trailer. He claimed because the hanger was there, it was considered required and missing. Lol.

Too cheap to buy and install a mudflap with a previous warning and 2 days to install it. And we sit n here and complain about Dhurka and Punjambi.

I agree with your view. But unfortunately, sometimes you have to appease the broker if you want the load. A broker can find a carrier a lot quicker than a carrier can find a good load. That's just the world we are living in at the moment. One occasional headache I get running power only is that sometimes one broker will require Trailer Interchange Coverage, while the others require Unowned Trailer Insurance. They are basically the same thing, and it's a real pain in the arse having to call my agent to send out the COI with the changed verbiage because some yahoo broker is inflexible.
