My suggestion: Get rid of XP and install this on it instead:

It's designed for older computers like yours and will make it perform as good if not better than a new one. You'll never get bit by a virus again either, since it's not Windows. This is a great OS to put on old computers rather than throw them away, it will breathe new life into them .


System Requirements:

i386 or derivative processor (AMD64 and x86_64 are fine as well)
256 MB of RAM (possible it works with as little as 192, but not positive)
4 GB hard drive space (this is an overestimate just for good measure)
