I like the ones coming up begging for gas money smoking a cigarette, if you can afford the smoke, you can afford the gas. The ones that piss me off are using their kids for sympathy while smoking the cig begging for gas.....

or smoking asking for money for food. Same thing. If you can afford to smoke then you can afford food. Of course, welfare food stamp people do the same thing. Whip out the flag faux credit card to buy frozen pizza, soda etc. and then pay cash for cigarettes and beer. I see it every day. There will always be people trying to game every system for free stuff

I fell for this scam a long time ago at a gas station when I still thought everybody in the world was good. I handed the guy $3 (This was when gas was only $1 a gallon). He didn't even attempt to make it look like he was going to get gas. He just got in the car and drove away. The least he could have done was pretend that he was going to use it for what I gave it to him for.

Yeah, I am always conflicted about this stuff. Obvious scammer, then, "No", of course.

But many times I put myself in the persons place, and think how I would feel. $10 or $20 isn't going to kill me, every once in awhile. Karma, you know?

Got this yesterday at the TA in Jessup, MD. Girl with gray teeth (!) walks up and wants to know if I can give her a couple of bucks for a gas can, she's a few short. She's tried calling all her friends, but apparently they're sleeping late. I ask where her car is, and she points in a northerly direction and says waaaay down there past the light, and she asks why I want to know. I told her that I wanted to walk to her car with her, have her unlock it and try to start it so that I could verify her story before I gave her any cash. She flipped me off and walked away.

    Don't BS me.
