No cops do not go easy, trust me many angry cops stood on my fuel tank sputtering one syllable words in anger barely able to express themselves to me prior to writing a stack of tickets. For little things.

Get a voice recorder app on your phone asap. And never never let others drive while you're seated on the left seat...

You drive the way feel you should drive, you are in command of the ship and your "trainer" is a passenger, if he does not like it, tell him to get out next time you stop. He can drive any way he sees fit when he is at the control of his own truck. That is all that need be said.

I ran for a company like that. I almost lost my CDL cause of it. It is not worth it, tell your boss you will not drive unsafe or even better just move on.

What he said. Get paid well being a good driver, not having to be a bad driver to be paid well ..

Your getting paid by the ton/load so the quicker to deliver the quicker you get another? More loads more money?
That right tbere is the problem, I see the same from container drivers and fuel drivers, and that is a dangerous way to make a living.
Push the limits to squeeze one more load in.
Not calling out all these drivers but a majority of them run like that

It sounds like the guy needs to find a job that pays hourly so he doesn't need to be driving in an unsafe manner just to make a buck.
