I think your reply was more tongue in cheek then not. However unless you have been in that TA and know how the drivers counter is setup you don't really understand what I did. The counter will hold about 12 people. There was maybe 8 or 9 in there that evening. The guy was sitting to my right on the end and that set of shakers was the only ones anywhere near me. I think I said i asked him, actually if I remember correctly what I did was without touching the man I put my hand in his line of vision pointing to the shakers. If that was wrong of me, so be it!

Irony: we're talking about how much we're on our phones,

If you can read this,,,, you're on yours RIGHT NOW!

As far as a few posters further up who sounded a little depressed, I was thinking the other day, why don't truck drivers and airline stewardesses hook up more often? There's a surprising compatibility between the two professions. (Travel, loneliness, hotels in odd cities.)

Truckers always complain we're stuck with waitresses & flight attendants get treated like arm candy by boorish business travelers. Might be interesting to have a relationship with someone across multiple cities.

Your probably right. I was thinking of the individual booths with a phone at each one.

Personally i was not effected by it, i don't mind being alone if that makes any sense and then sometimes I don't mind abit of company either the trouble is finding the right company that one enjoys being around can be rather hard. Alot of people keep a pet with them such as a dog or a cat if allowed in the cab.

Speak for yourself. I'm sitting in my easy chair on my laptop. I have never been on TTR on my phone.

Same here. I only get on the internet with my computer, never with the stupid phone.

I don't text, either. If a conversation is needed I will talk, thank you very much.
That is what a phone is for, after all. To speak with people.

What we have these days is not a phone any more. It is a personal hand held computing device.
The 'phone' part of it is just an app that people sometimes use.

BWT The OP has not been active since Jan 2016. I doubt the OP will see the quotes. I use my smartphone some, but most of the time I am on my home computer!

I’d rather send text messages than have to talk to people.
    You should try it

For the most part I prefer a text. Get to the point. Folks get on the phone and they just love the sound of their voice and my brain zones out to their pointless drivel.
