@sheepdog, this is my not so perfect lease purchase contract :
1. Program to HELP driver make BETTER decisions (free training/workshop)
2. A small down payment, say around $2500 or less
3. A fuel card
4. Trucks in the 2006-2010 age range with no more than 550,000 miles.
5. Allow a driver to make changes to the truck, to improve fuel mileage, small improvements of course, nothing that will void the warranty.
6. A walk-away lease
7. Discount on tires, fuel and overall parts.
8. A lease term no more than 3 years but, 2 would be better.
Please note number 1 - I just wonder if there is a company with a program like this.

Yours is a lot like mine, just need the small details that can make or break the lease like; eskrow accounts, maintenance accounts, where can I get the truck fixed, details of fuel card (open or restricted) and how does the L/P driver get their loads and how are the loads paid?
-
Thanks again SheepDog. Yup, as a whole, this is my ideal lease purchase contract (a lot like yours
. I just highlighted number 1 - still wondering if "education" will become a priority.
-

That's essentially what my deal is with my carrier. It's the only reason I sold my paid-for truck and bought the one I have now. Unfortunately, they don't do that now that RR took over.SheepDog Thanks this.
-
mqc1298, not bad at all and thanks for posting. I would need to understand the contractor compensation a little better and I don't like the fact that the tarp, and detention pay are only %70 of what the customer is billed. Contractor should get 100% of tarp pay and detention pay,,maybe someone will chime in here and tell me different, in that case I would like to know why. Other than those 3 things, is there a down payment, credit check and/or balloon at the end? Will the driver get the title at end of lease? Who owns the truck? In other words, does the company that is providing you with the lease own the truck or does it have a lien on it from International or someone else, that can be a problem in the end, when you want your title.
-
I didn't realize you could pick your loads from more than one source.. Being able to pick your loads from multiple avenues makes the arguement that the company can slow you down, go away.
-
mqc1298, never mind on my questions regarding balloon, down payment, or credit check.. I went to their sight and it states all that right on there...
-
For those who are also wondering, its no credit check, walk away, zero down, $1 buyout..
So what do you think about the l/p program??
