I just talked to them and as I figured, if a driver does a L/P those payments don't count for anything and LM doesn't recognize them. NP, their trucks are all too new anyway.

Not really SheepDog, I had just talk to her because my credit is al messed up too and she said that they look to the credit, but it is all in house financing through Cresco Capital. She said that this give them the ability to assist many people with different types of credit. And she said that although they gonna look to my credit, the are interested in the big picture. On the credit side they will be looking primarily for bankruptcy/repo in the past year and significant tax liens/delinquent chid support that you are NOT paying on. And that's about it. - After that, they give us a call to make a phone interview to find out more about our experience and knowledge in the industry, time on the job, and what your plans are for the truck. And she said they will let us now about their decision right there on the phone. - I mean, it is not that PERFECT kind program, but so far it is the best one for me.
I hope I had helped you a little bit. But nevertheless, give her a call.SheepDog Thanks this. -
Does other freight company recognize late payment?
I think whatever we do, it will be a risk anyway...Or it will have some risk, because paying a balloon it will also get you in a tough money situation, don't you think? And so, depending for who you will be O/O, and planning good, you won't have L/P.... -
Definitely! Whatever avenue we choose, L/P, finance or buy outright, there will be risk. Each avenue having its own parameters of risk. Some say a L/P is the riskiest but, what is there to loose, if it is a "walk-away" lease? I would say if I went down to the dealership or a 3rd party and financed the truck, that would be the riskiest, since if the driver doesn't make the payments, that will go on his credit report. Buying a truck with cash has no credit risks. Iether way you go though, there is a risk of failure, or getting a pos truck and going out of business because of maintenance costs or just bad business decisions. -
A thought to ponder on the revenue side:
Operating Costs per Mile: Based on 10,000 miles a month
Fuel Costs: $0.64
Lease or Purchase Payments: $0.17
Repair & Maintenance: $0.14
Insurance: $0.07
Permits & Licenses: $0.02
Tires: $0.04
Tolls: $0.02
This information is based off of 2012 figures/ numbers. The organization is the American Transportation Research Institute. The study is "An Analysis of the Operational Costs of Trucking: A 2013 Update". I would recommend/ encourage anyone thinking of doing either the LP or OO to get a copy. There is some helpful/ useful info in it.popcorn169 and SheepDog Thank this. -
I talked to Lone Mountain and it was Charlotte who I spoke with. I think it was about 1 to 2 years ago and I was approved. They do have a good program and I just did not end up going that route. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to lease. The only concern that I noticed was that if you paid it off in 1 year to went the whole lease term you paid the same no matter what. But it was not going to make me walk away.

Hey Popcorn,,,I just seen a post from you in 2012 on Gravdigrs (?) CRST Malone thread... Looks like you bought a truck for a minute and than had to sell. Real sorry to see that brother trucker,,, Have you been able to get another one?
-
credit check on 07-09 international????????Wow Really think about this. I have a truck thats paid for.....I l/p it to a driver I haul 1.86 per mile freight I pay driver 1.40 pm so I get .46cpm off the top. he will pay for the breakdowns maintenance fuel permits plus I am gonna rent them a trlr for 185 a week.......by the time the truck is paid off it will be junk. say you have 3 months left on your lease and you lose an engine...the company will pay for it but hold your title until they get their money back......I will be the one that determins how much money you make because when you do this lease purchase you pull for me so if i tell you freight is slow well...you sit eventually you change jobs tired of not making any money so I sell the truck again and again and again
Colt seavers Thanks this. -
