I always oversteer. It's a thing to be really good at... especially at 0200 in the rest area when all the "easy" real estate has Swifties and CREs all over it!

Well there is a trick to it on the Pad. Line up the side of the trlr with the center cone at the rear of the marked parking area. Then back up until your trlr duals just cross the outside line. At this point the back of your trlr is in the box, now just put the truck within the box. Its pretty hard to explain, but easy to demostrate. If you are still there on Sunday, hopefully you will have tested out and be gone, and your still having trouble let me knoe. I should be in the yard then picking up a student.

Well, after about 120hrs of driving time in about 2.5-3 weeks and being gone from my family for 4 weeks... I am proud to say that it has all been worth it. Today, I trifecta'ed my CDL exam!!!! I even drew the parallel parking skill. Now, I got it in the first attempt but, It looked close to me. So I took 2 points to repostion everything. After the exam the examiner said "You had it in the first time" LOL oh well.... So I was feeling pretty pumped! Until I went on my road test! Got as far the light at Mayfair and thought I royaly screwed up... I turned to tight and I tickled the curb.. I didnt drive over it but, I thought the tickle was gonna fail me. However, the rest of the road course was pretty much uneventful.. We got back to the pad and I was waiting to here the bad news but, intead i heard "congratulations Driver you passed"!

So now my trainer is tending to a lil personal business before we head out. I am enjoying the break to just decompress from the this fast paced but awesome learning experience... Speaking of my trainer. From about day 1 or 2 I realized that my instructor is frequent poster/commenter on this board! Reading his post and commemnts from the past was one of the reasons. I decided to go with prime. He is very knowledgable about the job, the business, and the industry. Now on these boards he may appear to be argumentative and grough but, he was an excellent instructor... So to u Mr ChuckTaylor. I say thank you!

I am really looking fwd to the training phase but, I am really looking fwd to getting home relatively soon. The time away from home truely hasn't been that bad. However, with the stress, pressure, and Self induced frustration. It made being away some days very hard. On days I would struggle so hard and I would wanna quit. Then, you miss home and your family so quiting looked like a great opition. However, the cell phone and Skype are a great thing on the road but, daddy is starting to really need some noisy roudy kids to recharge is batteries and I amlooking fwd to spending time with my wife ;) Speaking of phones and the road. During the instruction phase you are not allowed to use your cell phone while driving.. So make sure you tell your family that u may not be able to call until late when your done driving if at all. I was almost always able to call when we stopped for night excpet for if it was bad service area.. I am not sure about the team training phase if its still policy or not. It maybe up to your trainer.

Last but not least. If you are like me with a family and kids. Make sure you are up front with them about what all this job/career is going to entail. It requires a sacrifice from everyone! This isn't going to be a 9-5 job/career until you are lucky enought to get a local job.
