It was a smaller regional company based out of WY that I wouldn't recommend working for, as they shorted all but one of my paychecks and the driver supervisor is a young cat who thinks it's okay to lie directly to you, hence I left despite the boomer stigma of being a job hoppper.
Pilot will hire without fuel experience so long as you've got at least close to 2 years of driving experience and a clean record, depending upon how desperate the area you're applying for is for bodies. Pilots a revolving door because they only give sporadic raises, cut benefits like weekend pay, and zero longevity bonuses compared to competitors.

Pilot will pretty much hire anyone with a pulse. Generally the lowest paying company in the area.
Zonno and Whiteout out West Thank this. -

I drove in the Canadian Oilfields for about 15 Winters pretty well all for the same Company. Pumped and hauled Acid and Nitrogen as long as legally allowed. Best Job is Nitrogen, spills disappear by themselves. OK its TDG, don't want to get into an accident (I never did) and you need to know how to chain up but the Money is real good and there will be many Days/Nights where you have many many Hours to Sleep (all paid of course) at a Lease because they are not ready for your Truck just yet.
CheersZonno Thanks this. -
You would think the pay would be top notch because of the nature of the product being hauled and the fact that if the fuel
haulers dont run nobody else will be running either. But it doesn't pan out. Company I left killed off the meager safety bonus
they were paying and then no pay raise in 2024. Meanwhile ALL the expenses keep going up.
I left that company and like what I'm doing now. Direct to end user fuel delivery.
The hours also suck, the days are long and driving on the highways is very stressful being around the pathetic other drivers on
the roads. I used to be worried about the bomb aspect of the cargo but that doesn't bother me much now.

The main negatives compared to other sectors of trucking
Is you’re breathing in bs all day at the plant when you load when you unload as well, the goal is not to get the stuff on you everyday, but you will. you stink and it soaks into your skin.hope not dumb twucker, Zonno and JolliRoger Thank this. -
Why are you getting it on your skin? Work cleaner and that’s not an issue.
hope not dumb twucker and REO6205 Thank this.
