Just finished my last run OTR. Nice easy 2300 mile out and back to Michigan. Starting local next week. Hopefully all goes as planned. Funny thing is, I spent an hour getting my truck nice and clean inside and at the end I noticed I didnt want to leave lol. It’s funny how you adapt to things. It was home for 8 months and I am truly happy for the experience, not only for me but also for my relationship with my wife. It’s made us much better for each other, ironically.

Oh well, I look forward to local work and seeing my wife and kids every day. Stay safe everyone!!

Ps sorry to hijack your thread @Samarquis

Just dont order meat loaf at the Iron Stomach and you should be fine.

Make sure you check your glad hand connections and 5th wheel release arm when you leave your truck every time. I had someone cut my primary air line when I was inside getting a weigh ticket.

Making progress towards GA. Stayed at a rest area on 90 in mass last night after a nightmare of traffic leaving maine. Now im at the pilot in colonial heights VA for the night. Rolling again first thing 230-3am to make my delivery and hopefully reload tomorrow for RI. Gonna be tight. Google has it as 10.5 drive time from here to receiver to shipper.

Really hoping to make good time getting back. The truck is way overdue for service and had a friday appt. And we have the big company picnic/summer party saturday that im hoping to make it to

    Stay safe out there

I plan to! I hope you keep going with your updates as well. Most of the time I only get on here to see what’s going on with this thread and that’s it. As I’ve said, there’s something nice about reading other peoples adventures. And I like the input from the other guys who hang around here too. Plus there’s no drama and bs, I’ve only got so much mental energy lol.

Hope you make it home in time for your party!

Getting ready for bed in ga. Headed north in the morning towards RI. What a #### week this is turning into.

    Terrible traffic leaving maine
Traffic in pa with road closures for flooding
Constant downpour with poor visibility most of the trip it seems
Got my load bar stolen from my head board last night

Barely made it to my shipper to reload, but made it. Get loaded, it starts pouring before i can tarp. The guy hurrys to lead me to a covered spot, i jump in and move the truck. Out of drive time. Dang. Forgot to set the eld to yard move so i got a 1 minute violation... Bummer. Spent 45 minutes making phone calls and talking to everybody involved trying to verify the load was good to tarp and go wet. But it was and i got it done. At least they let me stay here...

Just a rough week not a bad life. Try again tomorrow. Maybe i wont have any complaints next time lol.

Load bar was my fault. I keep it in the head board local but usually put it inside when im otr, and i forgot to this week. Oh well.

    Stay safe out there
