Made it into Ohio. Hanging out at the Petro in Girard for the night. Not my first time here and probably not my last lol. I like that the parking lot is enormous so there's generally a spot open.

Off to independance (Cleveland lol) in the morning. I actually get like 14 hours here which is very unusual for how I normally run. Good thing I'm broke, or I'd be blowing money at the ol iron stomach. The chicken cordon Bleu sounds lovely right now... But not todsy haha.

Hope you've all stayed safe and stayed clear of the snowy disaster of the mid coast

    Roll on

    More later

Shut down for the night at a rest stop on 70 in MD. Headed to Franklin VA in the morning.

I had like an hour and a half left I could have run, but I didn't see any parking choices other than the weigh stations on 270... And I try not to park in those lol.

Hopefully I can make the turn in VA and make good time towards home for the weekend. Been a decent week so far though.

On a side note... Manufacturers wholesale lumber in independence Ohio is a pain to get into. Located under an overpass so you can't see the right way to get in on satellite... Could be worse though I suppose lol

In addition to satellite view I often use Street View. That might have been helpful. Sometimes I can "drive" the route in advance.

Yes, the street view alows you to see signs for overpass heights, and any truck restriction signs.

Also helps to call the customer and ask them what is a good route for a big truck to take for a delivery. I use all methods if going to an unfamiliar place, Satellite view, Street view, gps, atlas, and calling customer.

That's what I settled with. Their address and sign were on the overpass. To get there you had to take side streets from the next light and go down underneath. After using satellite and street view I ended up just calling.

I got there and got it done. So I'm happy lol

Well it has been a day, I can day that. Maybe not a good day, maybe not a bad day, but a day it is.

Started smooth with a 4 hour ride to deliver in Franklin, VA. Then I headed towards crystal hill, VA for my backhaul. Stopped on the way for fuel and to take a 30 when I came across a pilot... Which was a mistake. I pulled into the entrance road to find myself in a line of trucks waiting for fuel with nowhere to go, so I waited. That was a solid 30 minutes but it is what it is lol.

Get to my shipper with time to spare I thought.

First I didn't have the numbers they wanted. Then I got my end squared away but she had a paperwork issue on her end, so I had to pull aside to clear the scales. 3 trucks roll in while I'm waiting for papers from scale house. Finally get papers (30 minutes) and pull in the yard. 20 trucks give or take in line ahead of me. So I got to wait. About 4 hours all together, which could have been worse but it puts me in the hot seat to get #### done the next 2 days if I want to go home this weekend.

So I left with just barely enough time (like 2 minutes left) to get to Goldy's truck plaza in rustboro, VA. Which seems okay for the night as far as independents go. It's mostly clean looking lol.

Now to smoke it for mass in the morning! GPS has me at 10hrs 35min so I hope it's a smooth ride.

    That's enough whining... That's trucking

    Stay safe out there

    Ramble on
