I think you sold me on the oven lol. My wife is a killer cook and we are always trying to think of things I can bring to heat up. The sauce pan is somewhat limiting

Just realized that last week i passed a milestone of sorts. As of june 5th i have been employed as a driver for 3 full months. I generally wouldnt count the months, but 3 months is minimum experience for a lot of companies. So i like to consider it a milestone. If i got fored tomorrow I am now much more qualified for work than i was a month ago. Go me! Lol
Also, lunchbox oven is a win. So far i have reheated shepherd's pie and mac and cheese, am cooking beans and hot dogs now, and experimented with totinos pizza bites. Everything has come out excellent, but takes a while to heat. I havent been home in 4 days and have not purchased a single hot food item this week. Just made my own sandwiches, cereal for breakfast, and lunchbox oven stuff for supper.
Compared to eating every meal from the store, even with the purchase price of my oven included i bet i saved 80 dollars this week by bringing a cooler, grocery shopping, and preparing my own food. I'd call that a win
Parked at the fairfield, me irving for the night. Sucks to be so close to home yet stuck out, but such is life i guess. Unload in the AM, reload, and head home for the weekend.
Thats all for now. Stay safe out thereLepton1 and otterinthewater Thank this. -
My "oven" is due to arrive on Monday. Looking forward to a rib eye, asparagus and mushrooms.
-
Just dont be surprised when it takes an hour or better lol.
It is so worth it though, to have a hot meal that doesn't come from a truck stop or a McBurgerhole lol -
How does everybody like the ovens? Lol
Just spent the week on the road with my 15yo nephew. He had a good time and so did i. It was nice to have some company, and give him a few lessons on life lol. Never went further than CT, but fun all in all
Had a 30 mile load on a 91 degree day that was a suprise tarp load. Had to sit on it over night because i missed the receiving window by 10 minutes after tarping. Bunch of bull. Shipper demanded tarps, lift guy thought inwas stupid for tarping it. So did the receiver. So i sweat half to death for nothing. Oh well, it is what it is.
Got my orders for next week. Taking friday and saturday off then booking it for miami with a load of maple lumber. I have never in my life been further from maine than Moravia, NY so i am both extremely excited and nervous lol. Hopefully it goes well
Stay safe out there. And chime in with how things are going for you!Slim51 and otterinthewater Thank this. -
Probably going to let this thread die... I mostly just talk to myself anyways lol.
First long run. Northern maine to Miami Gardens, FL. Started today and made it to Harrisburg, PA. Tomorrow Im hoping for Brunswick, GA. Im really liking it so far, and if it goes well the money will be great. Hopefully i dont have any issues as I go on. I have never in my life been further from Maine than central New York state
More later... Maybe

Balderdash!!!!
You are one of the ones I follow on here that actually makes any sense?
And you're gonna quit?
You know how many wannabees, wish I could's, never will's, and old timers you are gonna disappoint?
You'll do nothing of the sort. No quitters here; (except maybe rehab.)
No, seriously, please keep doing what you are doing, this is a day to day, mundane,
and monotonous thing to you, but I am sure it's like a adventure series to someone out there.
I drove medium duty trucks since 1983, wore out 7 rollbacks under my ###, but I never did exactly what you are doing. It interests me exactly for that reason. Something similar, but different than what I do.
Oh, there will be issues, no doubt. There always are.
And you will make it thru them, also.
You stay safe, too.flying_gage, Lepton1 and Samarquis Thank this. -
I honestly hope there are wannabees reading this and following. I got a lot of inspiration to get started by reading the stories on here.
Now back to trying to sleep. Coming from the subarctic that is maine down to this 100 degree day in PA has been difficult. With another 1000 miles to go south too lol.
As usual, stay safe out there. I'll be back -
I think a lot read without responding.
I’m one of those.
Thanks -
I subscribe to many threads without announcing my attendance. Hoping that telling you that you have another follower will encourage you to continue.
