Milton truck lines treats drivers pretty well and run some good equipment. You will probley not get home though and the pay is so, so.. I averaged 800 bucks a week running hard as a company driver and got home about every 5 weeks.. I'm in the process of quiting because as a lease op I just break even when I stay out for a month. You gotta live in your truck to make a profit!! I'm going back to knight trans...

Well I started driving for Knight Transportation and it was terrible... reminded me of the days with CR England! I was getting home but the planning was terrible and the equipment was not very well maintained. the money was ..... it sucked to put it frank. So I have now quit but maintain my CDL ... I just dont see where the money is considering what I have to go thru. Now if I knew of a good company that paid a good living wage with some reasonable home time, I'd still be rolling because I do like the road but a I have to see where it is paying off. NOBODY wants to be a homeless truck driver that squeeks out a existance...

Hey Hank, I'm also in Leesburg. I never did call Knight, too much bad being said about them. I did hire on to pull a rock bucket for a local outfit last year but took a couple of weeks off to visit family for Thanksgiving and when I got home and called dispatch I was told they had hired another driver for the truck I was driving ... :biggrin_2554: It's been a while since I've been over the road ( sold my truck in '02 ) but still get the itch to get out there . What do ya think of May ? Are ya running southeast or 48 state ?

I run 48 states. I love it. I dont like being away from the wife and kids, but you have to pay your dues. May treats me great, but mostly because I run hard and Im always on time. Just got an 07 PB 387. If you work hard and do your job they treat you like gold. The 10% they just let wither away. Those are the ones you hear chatting on here a lot.

You have been driving for 35 years? Have you ever driven a Tanker?
