Wow I’ve actually ran into that dude can’t remember where just remember he had got loaded right before me and his facial expression looked like he played no games almost out of a movie. I would also like to point your attention to the key words of “up to” keep in mind the fuel bonus can be 4 cents which is only quarterly, and the bulk drivers after a year only get a 1¢ raise per year till they reach their max so idk. I will say a lot of companies will say one thing in recruitment. Also you can only park it at a “Schneider approved” location so nearby tankwash or The Oc.
Being regional I’m mainly running east and west along 80 I would say Pitt and the Chicago area are my two main stopping points/working areas. I’ve only been to keasby twice in 6months

Do you know if any Cincinnati/Dayton tankwashes are Schneider approved? They mostly send you to Qualawash right? Otherwise I live about 1hr20 from Indy OC. And that route sounds ok to me at least until the winter rolls around. I guess Indy OC might be different, though, more i75 and southeast stuff? -
Your route may be a little different because of your starting location and there’s different stuff around there Vs Mich but typically we get the same assignments unless dedicated.
Typically when leaving from home, Basf is about 15 mins away from the wash so I’m typically grabbing from there. Then heading east or west.
But it’s typically pick up trailer. Get loaded/unloaded. Back to tank wash. Repeat.
I’ve seen others get screwed out of miles by relay but I’ve only had 4 relays myself. I hadn’t been south east but I hadn’t asked to go.TruckBuddy440 Thanks this. -
It's kind of funny, Indiana residents can't apply for any of the Ohio Schneider jobs, even if Cincinnati is far closer than Indianapolis. I guess it's for insurance/taxes like everything else... -

The games they play...
(realized I hadn’t update the actual thread in about 10 days)
(just had a collection of thoughts speaking to other drivers want to leave myself a note for after I get my 1 year in. MilesVpay. -NCOSafety)
So this is my 3rd qtr with Schneider and I have yet to get the fuel bonus which is up to 4 cents . Starting not to care about it either as its just more of a hassle. 1st quarter was within the 60day hire period and had my accident, second quarter was winter and polar vortexes and they’re supposed to remove idle time but... ended up 2/5 on the scoredcard. So currently I’m sitting at a 4/5 and scorecard and up until last week everything was peaches. 1st two quarters I went to wv once. Last two weeks I’ve been 5 times+ dealing with the hills of pa also. I can just see the fuel bonus being guzzled by every hill I climb at 30 mph. Just very convenient timing.
Assignment
Was given a load that’s 60 miles round trip. (According to Qualcomm) which is great for a local guy.out and back. It was a hazmat relay that had a delivery time of 08:00-1400.
Got up and checked The wash for the trailer. Nothing, check the relay ready time and it said tomorrow at 2 in the morning. So I called into extended they said oh the guy will be there at 10:00 (2hours from when I called) he just finished his 30,and asked me if I still wanted it. As a driver I figured it would be more on the side of 3-4 hours as he was coming from Wv. So I’m looking at a hour 45 to pick up the trailer do their hazmat safety call, wait for him to finish his post trip do my pre trip and make it 40 miles up the road... no telling if there’s traffic or not. So I said no give it to a local guy, it wasn’t worth whatever headache for $80 pretax (60x.47=28+15 for shorthaul+35 for unload.)
Now imagine if I hooked up took it and made it outside the delivery window..and had to keep it for the night that would be $40 a day smh.
They sent a message an hour and a half after the 2 hours they said he would be there telling me he’s 15 mins away and that failure to deliver would count against me as I “dispatched myself” and would still have time to deliver.
Just wasn’t worth my time they can have that strike.
Now dispatched just told me nothing’s moving out til after the holidayTruckBuddy440 and scythe08 Thank this. -
Did that same crap with me in dryvan.

I haven’t had any problems with my pay for performance it is always under my settlement breakdown since I hit my 60 day point.I noticed that whenever i get ran up to Pennsylvania I sit a whole lot or get really ####ty loads like 60 to 100 miles roundtrips versus when I go out to Louisiana or Texas I get work constantly, even when I run to Chicago or Gary I always get a load heading out before I even get there.
-
Like I completely understand that I’m a “rookie” driver. I just spent all Friday shuttling trailers for them. So I know there is loaded trailers sitting around. I also understand that it’s a holiday weekend. Also never turned down a load even the crappy ones in Chicago that pay zero miles despite being 30+ miles through Chicago traffic but I can no longer do the assignments that gross less than training pay for a half days work. Now throw in that it’s hazmat and has a 2 hour window and hadn’t been relayed in the 2 hour window. Sounds like too much of a fun time for me -
