    Hope every one is having a good week!!
    Cont. Left from hometime yesterday got to gary a little late for the pm but can’t leave the lot regardless with work orders. Got a hotel across the street(Best western has a pretty nice breakfast). Got back to the truck and everything was checking out fluids full everything looked good. Started up just fine. Ran my pto... compressor is still pooping itself. Walking into the service advisor and got a confused face as to why it was work requested but not done with the pm as asked. Earliest eta was 1600 so I guess I’m here for another night

    Sounds like your shop is like ours. I waited 2.5 hrs the other night to have a mudflap on the tractor replaced

    Update
    As I guessed correctly the shop told me 1600 it should be done... checked on it at 1700... hadn’t even been brought in yet so chilling at the hotel for another night boy I’m creeping up on my 1 year mark quick

    I wouldn't wait. You've been sitting way too much. Other chemical tank companies will hire you. At any rate, it's not too early too start looking, making some calls and planning an exit.

    Yea that and they love giving me local runs that take all day and pay next to nothing lately.
    I’ve been calling and planning an exit and been kind of stuck between options though
    I know I wanna pull tank but can’t find nobody that’ll take me on with 7 mos so I don’t want to switch to a van company just to switch to another tanker company don’t want to keep switching companies. Also due to them paying for the trucking school I’ll owe them 1k just for leaving so if I can’t find it in the next month or 2 I’ll have to just wait out the year.

    This is why I am happy that I never got my cdl through them I found a good company that will take me on with 7 months exp, there is no money to made at Schneider unless you sit here for years getting paid scraps

    Its a win for me, I mean I didn’t make much money but man the experience is invaluable for me I mean I got a lifetimes worth of stories in just the last 6 months and now I know the game and how it’s played. Definitely still a rookie and got a lot to learn but I’m free of debt and really enjoy the job. So I can wait out the other 6 months if I can’t find a good one before then.

    This weekend has just been intermodal bliss!!!
    Let me start by saying I hadn’t been to a railyard since early February.
    So Saturday went to Csx in Bedford park and I was supposed to drop one off and pick one up well the pickup number for the railyard wasn’t working so I was told to pull up and call my dispatch and then come in.(There are no signs or maps of the place pointing to a driver assistance lot) So I did exactly as the lady said pulled up right next to the building( funny it took her 30 seconds to come outside yelling vs 4 minutes to get her to pick up the phones) but she comes out red faced “Why is you parked right in front of my building my supervisor watching and wanna kick you out”(I’m thinking please do I hate railyards just give me the word). Pull around there’s a lot over there.. luckily I found an actual intermodal driver who knew more than extended. Dropped my trailer and came back to driver services.. and that lady goes you must not come here often after I give her my license # and said this is my very first time. She said “oh” then proceeded to act overly nice as if she didn’t just come at me sideways. Only took me A migraine to get in and out. The next day the assignment read drop empty pickup empty depart. I called extended the night of to make sure of the assignment and had them triple check.. was told yea drop the chassis here then pick up the container.. nothing was mentioned of a live lift. So I went to the railyard it was nice cause it was empty wasn’t many drivers there..so I dropped my chassis in the chassis lot after navigating the missing signs and finding a spot. So I get to my pickup and it’s on the ground and behind 4 other containers... so I had to call and confirm and they were like yea just pick it up and go...smh had to explain it had no chassis.. but that day gets better. I go back to get that chassis then wait 30 mins for a crane.Only had one lifted off this is my first one getting put on... I don’t really know the operation.so the operator moves the containers out of the way then says what I think is “get behind me” so I pull behind him. Can’t really hear because of his crane and and my truck plus the other background noise. But I hear him finally yell and his face swell with anger lol “what are you doing you idiot you need to turn around you’re facing the wrong way. You’re lucky I don’t just leave.” Yea he wasn’t having a good day and I was determined to make it worse now”I take my sweet time turning around and parking on the wrong side of him again and you can see him fuming he was so angry it kinda made my day then I pulled around and backed in and he finally dropped it( Railyard people are all a bunch of di##s).. Then today I had to go get loaded In wisc and drop off at that same lot. Asked if it could be relayed for a intermodal but it was insisted that it needed to be there today and my was given an rv number by my dbl. so I get to the railyard and the rv number isn’t activated until tomorrow at 4 smh. Called in to extended and got 2 more expired numbers and found out it wasn’t going on this train. So I spent about an hour & 20 just waiting for the right rv number to get a park location and to get a lift
