The rookie

This was 3rd trip back to Neenah and when I went to sleep last night I had a preassignment back to Gary the trailer I brought up was gonna get cleaned and prepped(guy at great northern is a real stickler for his prep) and I had to be in manitowoc by 1300. So I’m knocked out when my phone rings at 730 and it’s my dbl calling to tell me that I needed to get routed back there for tablet installation. I said well that fine my assignment brings me back There today anyway. I don’t see no assignment on you , so I shake off the sleep check compass and sure as shoelaces it was gone. So now it’s about to be 1100 and I just get a big mile preassignment.


So back to Gary, tablet installed and home in mich by fri is not looking so good

 

All imma say the train to ny is only 20$Roundtrip

 

So got to Gary around 7(1900)on Thursday. Went to check in for the tablet installation and was told my appointment was at 07 am that morning (reason my assignment was taken away somebody had an ohs*** moment and realized I was in Neenah) and that I would have to get it rescheduled, so I went to park in the bobtail lot soon as I set my brakes I got a call from the shop saying they’d squeeze me in. And to hurry and park in front of the shop. So I got a hotel some nice breakfast woke up took the shuttle around 11 cause my assignment just came in to go home. Get to the truck and can’t login took a ton of time to find out I had to get the info from Qualcomm switched over and had to get last 8 days printed out. Only thing in the way of going home now was that traffic on 94... I swear I got caught in both sides of it picking up my tanks first west was slow then when I picked my tank up west was moving and east was slow.
- weekend was awesome so many of my cousins graduated and it’s got me feeling long in the tooth.
-So Monday the awesomeness is continuing itself... Got to the truck and the tablet had some sort of malfunction... so now I’m on paper logs can’t update any of my tasks on workflow. And navigation is out all relating to some server... So I called ITsupport and spent an hour and 15 mins on the line with them found out I have some sort of test tablet where they were testing the hos/Navigation. This made me an hour late to my appointment I get to the place and was told they wasn’t expecting a tanker and the guy calls his boss. Who then verifies that the load has been cancelled for a whole week...

Tl:dr- was rushed to get a tablet installed- Tablet don’t work,I’m on paper logs and my load got canceled a week ago.
