So was off the 21st - 8th due to hometime and the truck being in the shop. Truck was fixed on the 5th but it was the weekend. Came out Monday had a 3 compartment unload 300 miles away at 700 in the morning Tuesday and the truck unloader was a complete dick that didn’t know what he was doing. First off the place is setup for box vans he had me pull up to a door and get samples. Then after I get my hoses down to get setup he has me move over one door instead of telling me this in the beginning.(after he watched me do it).Rear compartment was a pump unload and he’s like why are you opening the dome hold on let me grab my guy smh. Then after that he tried to connect a 2 in fitting to a 3 in hose multiple times. He even asked me something along the lines of was this my first day cause it was taking longer and he didn’t want to pay detention. Anyways made it to the tank wash at 12 yesterday tablet stopped working for workflow on my last task. Call in had em fix it. Woke up at 0500 got a good run in and dbl called me like where you at? At the tankwash waiting for an assignment! Well we had something on you.. been checking compass and tablet just about every hour and nothing so... yea

Been having a solid week left home Monday with 600 miles to Charlotte and before I could get to Charlotte had a preload going to Ky and before I picked up that one today already had another load going to oh dropping in coraopolis.. idk who did the shaking and moving cause this feels like a glitch in the matrix. Speaking of, the tablet I found that whenever I disconnect the tablet from the trucks WiFi it works how it is intended. Problem with that is somehow that’s tied directly to hours of service, so I have to disconnect update assignments and get navigation before I reconnect and begin driving. But it’s a somewhat functional tablet now

Had my second rookie mistake today.. had my first incident on my first assignment and then today.. it was such a rookie mistake even though there was another driver there from Langer saying it happens to the best of us his direct quote was “show me a truck driver that’s never made a mistake and I’ll show you a liar”
Sad part is I’d done the manuever the day before when the place told me to come early but upon arrival told me that itd be 2-3 hours before they could unload me cause they’re shift is over in 2 hours (pretty much being lazy) and the trains was coming I everytime I’ve been to this place they’ve been on a nevending change(3x) I got there today 45 mins early and they were still 2 hours to come and start the unload but to get to their scale you have to cross some railroad tracks and it’s a tight right if you want to get on it without having to readjust. So the strategy is to keep straight and turn back into it to straighten out.now on the left of the scale is one of bollards pretty close to it like they always are .. This time there was a truck parked on the right of the street just past the tracks and close to the the turn in point forcing me to take it a little wide. So I got 70 percent of my truck clear past the bollard and straightened out a smidge too early.. I knew I was close but felt secure.. end up scraping the bollard with the cat walk steps and they came off so not the greatest of days today.. also came home to a nasty storm today.. I’m not angry as I understand it happens but such a rookie mistake

Jacob stern and sons in Houston. My last chem company had 6 drivers in a row, myself included, damage the railing for the catwalk on or trailers on the same #### bay. The loading platform was offset by a couple inches. The bay was tight and you clear the front on the platform with the rails but as you continue backing, you lose sight and cant see the slight recess and end up bending the rail if you're carefull,,,,,or ripping them off it you arent watching the top of your trailer and only the bottom.

The receivers knew and purposely put us in the same bay everytime one of our trucks showed up. Horrible place too. 8 hour unloads and they left a ton of heel on every trailer.

Thursday was pretty interesting for me almost got jumped by a group of construction workers in La salle IL at the Loves. Went to scale heavy and what ever liquid I had just wouldn’t settle so I was on the scale for about 5-10 mins there was a truck behind me that decided to go fuel instead of waiting and then he pulled around about 5 mins later I get a hard knock on my door yelling wtf man I tell the guy they don’t have my weight yet as it’s still moving around.. check my mirror his crew of about 15(they had about 3 trucks and two pickups.) all standing at my back wheels with their hands up... the guy went to walk in to check if I was bs’ing and soon as he went in they said they had my weight. So I pull around and the guy that was there before them pulled around and was sneaking onto the scale while the guys was celebrating. The guy jumps on the cb in the most countriest of country voices and goes “aye unlimited carriers if you get on that scale imma cut your nutsack off”. Now I was parked and watching the action unfold and unlimited wasn’t stopping so the construction crew pretty much bullied him off the scale by almost going head up with him, jumps back on the cb “I ain’t moving so whaddya wanna do”?.. eventually unlimited backed off but man the hostility lol after all that I had to head through Chicago which was a nightmare made it to Fort Wayne with about 3 hours went to my last 15 mins trying to find parking.. especially since I was hazmat... told dispatch i would be an hour late due to hos and ko’d. Woke up got exactly 1 street away from the place at the time I said I would and bam a train. Luckily the dude was pretty cool about it, the chemical was this purple stuff they call Barney... it stains the tank and hoses a doo doo brown color when cleaned off too

After you sit for long enough for the liquid to start to settle down, do you release all of you brakes? The truck moving a little bit back and forth will settle the load down a lot faster than if you hold your rig still with the brakes.
You probably already knew this, but I thought I would mention it in case you hadn't.

Exactly, some scales are really sensitive to any movement.

I used to pick up an herbicide in Greenvile, MS that was blood red, but dried this bright burnt yellow. Really irritating stuff. Stunk and never stopped moving and the darn stuff was like grease. One little drop on your glove and you could paint a wall with it.
