Yea I agree most of my issues could be resolved if there was freight and I was banking bucks. And I was feeling the same way. When I very first started and getting some miles I was only staying out a week and thought well what if I stayed out two weeks.. started getting less miles and more layovers. The company slogan at the time was “wait till it warms up, it’ll pick up” it’s now midway through August and almost the slow season again lol (it’s sad that I’ve come to a point where I can laugh at that)
But somewhere in June I put in hometime for every weekend for the rest of the year. I always joking ask my dbl when’s my next hometime lol.
But the company support has great people just the machine is disorganized and slow.
I remember sitting with the shop advisor on speaker with IT and them telling me that the shop handles the software side of the tablets smh I just politely handed the shop advisor the phone and let him do the chewing.
Or when I went to maintenance who told me tablet stuff has to get approved by IT but IT said they can only approve new tablets and not the actual work despite both of them agreeing my truck was effed up. Then my dbl in the middle having to run emails just to get a work order... that kind of disorganization is crazy

Had my 1st memorable road rage today lol out in Wv. Get about 90 miles from my parking place for the night and going down a hill out of nowhere a pickup cuts me off and is going 55. mind you the speed limit is 70.. now I understand the hills can be scary to some but this guy was just cruising along and he kept looking at me in his rear view. So the next hill I go around him on the downhill and going up the next hill he passes me right before the down hill and back in front going 55 so I drop all the way back to about 50 and give him some time to get the fudge away from me as he was killing my following distance and momentum. Next hill I’m climbing at about 30 and really hoping he’s gone by the time I get up it... I catch him and I’m on the breaks before I began the next climb. Whenever there was a straight he would pick it up to 59-60 just so I couldn’t pass him. He got off about 2 miles before I did but it felt like he added an extra 4 hours to the drive

Yup. I get a ton of that crap. Being permitted overweight, we're limited to 55 mph. I cannot count the times I have been brake checked since we've been running these quad axle trailers.

So now that the tablet is working on my end and I’m getting assignments Schneider is telling me that the tablet isn’t working on their end... besides that I’m having a decent time now assignment wise. Today I seen a nasty wreck on I-80 just west of i280 it was 2 big trucks and it looked like the truck in the median was obliterated except for where the driver was seated hopefully he was ok. And lastly somebody isn’t doing their pre-trips

Speaking of safety I had a great week last week but of course this week had to have an issue. Had an out and back to Cleveland Monday so I slept in my bed again on Monday, Tuesday had to pick up a preloaded from basf and they preloaded this
Multiple people failed to do pretrips on this trailer and now I’m stuck getting it in for maintenance while it’s loaded. Best part of all this is when it’s fixed I’m still headed to that traffic jam they call Chicago. Then I need to get maintenance on truck. Ac compressor started leaking and my tablet is once again taking poop on itself. Depending on how long they quote for this trailer I might be home in my own bed for the night againAttached Files:

They’re telling me from Gb that’s it’s actually ok for driving as the bar does nothing for support but it’s still attached to the both sides of the leaf springs and rotted out which don’t make sense if there no stress on em. Just odd that they approved of the maintenance and then decided to opt out.. just another fun time if dot wants to have a say

Got up at 0500 today to make that 0700 appointment time about 50 miles away pretripped and went looking for my trailer in the yard. Was told it would be fixed in time for the morning as they took it in immediately when I got there around 1730 and they’re usually good on their word however they are very thorough... So I walked in the shop and they told me its still In for repairs... well I only put it in for the fender. Told my dbl of the situation and headed to put the paperwork in the doc box, talked to the mechanic and he’s like “yea the fender is finished but the crossbars are gonna be awhile, their a tough repair and nobody wants to do them. (I’m thinking oh really, tell me more) Told him I reported it and he’s like yea we got one cut out and we still gotta get the other one. Apparently I missed the one in the middle being completely rusted too. So the trailer has been quoted by the end of the dayscythe08 Thanks this.
