Never having to wait for someone else to load or unload you is one of the things I like best!

Got one more week of training/ getting carded. Got like 3 facilities where they just want to see me load one more time. Also a short week, got Christmas off. Then I head to my home terminal for another week training / carded at that local terminal and then. I’m set to be on my own. Loving every bit of the job so far. The unloads are going pretty well. Loading is also going well , the screens are starting to become simple now it’s just a matter of pulling the product the correct way and learning all the accounts.

Don't get overconfident. Take it slow, keep double checking and.....
KEEP YOUR MIND ON WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!!!!!
That one last look may prevent a crossdrop, or other mistake.

Thanks for the welcome brother. That’s been the main piece of advice that all the other drivers have given me was to slow down and think it through. Which I understand and have some familiarity with as Im used to doing a safety check and calling to verify that I’m hooked to the right tank before offloading. We’ve been doing things to prevent crossdrops such as unloading the odd product first. Only uncapping what you’re using(loading and unloading in the instance of a split load.)
So if you got any tips for a new guy to the industry I’m all ears

Best thing is to get a routine, and do it the same way every time. If something interrupts you, start over to make sure you've covered all the bases.

Been off since Tuesday- but just got the call from boss man that they're taking the training wheels off and shipping me on my own on Monday.
