This is a warning to prospective drivers seeking to work for The Rosedale Group aka Rosedale Transport.
The management team from Mississauga to Calgary is toxic. It's an old boy's club. Bullying, coercion and strong arm tactics are pervasive. The company fails to abide by part 3 of the federal labour code by refusing to pay overtime after 60 hours worked in a week for their highway drivers. There are several complaints pending against the company-Human Rights, Monetary and Occupational/Safety. Their safety and compliance is a farce. You will find yourself in precarious situations often such as pushing your hours of service, hauling 5 gallon buckets of floor adhesive inside the cab of your truck, turning a blind eye to LCV regulations, running on expired permits etc. When I started running turnpike doubles for the company with extensive previous experience, they made me run a round trip with one of their 'driver trainers' out of Calgary Alberta. The trainer made me run on his log after I exhausted my own hours of service. I can only imagine this was the companies attempt to 'see what the guy is made of.' They advertise that they have vision coverage and yet I don't know a single driver that had it. They advertise that they have 'no forced dispatch' and yet I and fellow co-workers were forced to run nights against our will. When I was starting to have medical problems from their schedule expectations, I reached out to the company, thinking they would work with me or help me-I got nothing. Three weeks later I suffered a serious workplace injury, had surgery, suffered bi-lateral pulmonary embolisms post surgery thinking I might die at one point and still having chronic pain and psychological suffering a year later. When I disclosed the blood clots in my lungs to the HR director, I never heard back from the company and they ceased communication with me, hiding behind legal counsel. When I expressed concerns and complaints to the WCB, The Rosedale Group tried to assail my character and undermine my concerns through their legal counsel leaving me with no choice but to finally speak up and go after them on several different legal fronts. I still haven't been paid in full for the day I injured myself. Their trucks are spec'd cheap and underpowered for heavy haul. Their equipment and their drivers are run hard. Maintenance is not good. Rolly Uloth spends more time consulting gold exploration companies then running a clean, ethical and responsible transportation company. He needs to be pulled down from the ivory tower he thinks he's perched on. I have deep regrets for ever stepping foot inside this companies front door. They are the worst company I've worked for in my 18 years as a professional driver and my recent experience has caused me to want to 'hangupthekeysforgood.'
Don't say I didn't warn you...
