Well, last night I finished driving around 1:30am, then my mentor took over. Around 3am I woke to the some voices... and I heard my mentor say "could you please tell me why you pulled me over officer".... all I could think is this is not going to be good...and I was right.

Earlier I picked up a pos trailer from I swear 1970.. and apparently the abs light was flickering so we were pulled over. The cop advised an area at the next exit to pull off to do an inspection. I could hear the cop under the truck rolling around on one of those boards (no idea what ya call them) and saying everything looks good..blah blah blah.. then I fell back asleep.

I woke up this morning and said to myself how strange, my 1st night sleeping the night through! And when I openned the curtain I could see why. We never left the spot the cop did the inspection. Turns out when they ran said mentors license it came back SUSPENDED! Yep... it has been suspended since this past April.

On my way to deliver this load my mentor said I need to make a pit stop at my house before we deliver.. like a moron I said okay.. then I pulled off into a large parking lot and told him as bad as I feel for him, I am not driving to his house..the load pretty darn late as is.. he agreed.

So, I delivered the load 6 hours late, and lucky enough to have the warehouse guy tear me a new one.. but thats okay..he had a right to be po'ed.
The Mr. Mentor said "okay, it's a 3hr live unload and they said we can disconnect from the trailer. I need you to drive me home, then to the RMV..we should be back just as they finish unloading".

I felt like a big jerk, and had to tell him no, I cannot just drive you around on Swifts dime to help you out of this mess. God forbid I crash or something goes wrong. Then I finally said after this load I am heading to the terminal and getting off the truck. I lost 5 days of driving over the past 7 days...and cannot wait for another 3 or 4 days to clear this mess up.

So, I am off the truck and in the horrid horrid hotel until they find me a new mentor.... I feel like I am on the set of COPS watching some live footage outside my door. This sux!

I shall head to bed now (with one eye open)... if I stay on the computer I will just book a flight back to MA and call it a day.

Newly implemented policy when at the terminal when chatting with the window dispatch person, hey check to see license and current med card... The problem, the more experienced a Swift driver gets the more they know to avoid the terminal...

I always see the sign that says they will check your license and med card.
    Never been checked.

But even so, showing them your license will not let them know it has been suspended.
No blinking lights on a license, and they don't talk.

CA DMV has a system in place that every year, the carrier you drive for gets a notification of any "activity" regarding your license....it's called: CA PULL Notice

PULL is an acronym....what it is couldn't say.....

Ok folks... Mentor 4 called me last night, and will pick me up today. Lets hope I can get these last 60 hours done!
They put me up in the Premier Inn, in Phoenix.... DO NOT EVER STAY HERE! It is like being on the set of COPS or CSI. Outside there are 3 cops and some sketchy people running around. Inside, you get a stinky room, with more stains on the carpet than a slaughter house... and lets not forget waking to the 2 dead roachs!

After reading about your luck with mentors, I have a small piece of advice: Never go to vegas!! :biggrin_2551::biggrin_2551:

Seriously, I'm sorry you're having such a tough time, but your mentor stories have been most entertaining... :biggrin_25523:

How big is the mentor problem at Swift? and I thought that getting off a truck was a matter of a phone call... I hope the person who you been asking to get you off that truck gets in trouble for this, but I doubt it.

Sorry about the troubles. Yes, the Premier does really bite. Next time that you are in PHX and your truck has to go into the shop and they send you to a hotel, more than likely it will be the Quality Inn up the road, and there you will be happy.

    pjay and scottied67 Thank this.
